Why has this "Bruno" vs. Eminem thing been in the news all week?

Sacha Baron Cohen and Eminem and the 2009 MTV Movie AwardsI was fine with the initial story that it may have been a hoax, because it was news. After all the stunt Sacha "Bruno" Baron Cohen pulled putting his ass in the notoriously sensitive Eminem's face was the big buzz moment of the MTV Movie Awards. But it didn't stop there. Finally, after speculation and reports all week about it, Eminem admitted it was a stunt. Fine. Great. Does this mean it's over? I can't tell you how many "news" stories I read about this.

Everyone had their own take on it. You'd have thought it was the JFK assassination all over again. "There was one shooter with a camera zoomed in on Eminem's face. That's the only person who knew what was happening." "Impossible. Who worked the rig that lowered Cohen? Clearly there was a conspiracy." "But Eminem had to have been in on that conspiracy. Can you really lower a man on top of someone without them knowing it." "Perhaps, but did Em know Cohen's ass was bare." "Oh I think he most certainly did." Who cares, honestly?!

An unnamed source told me recently that Kris Allen spit on and killed an American Eagle with his bare hands before throwing the limp carcass at President Obama on a recent trip to D.C. This is as reliable and newsworthy as the piece of crap journalism from the gossip columnist at MSNBCs gossip section.

I just feel that this is all just a cover up and still don't fully believe that it wasn't real. Why did it mess up Zac Efron's award category? Why would cohen who plays stunts on everyone and doesn't tell them in advance -- do so now with eminem? Why when asked by tmz if it was a hoax just a day after the event, did he just ignore the question? Why is it the headwriter was the only one came out to say it was planned and everyone believed it and it was later REMOVED from his blog. I'm sorry but I don't buy it and think that it is just a way for Eminem to save face. someone at the event twittered that he was really mad -- if that was the case, why would he still be mad off camera. YOU ACT LIKE IT'S BEEN IN THE NEWS FOR WEEKS and it has not even been a full week yet.

And the moon landing was a fake, JFK is really still alive and controlling the Obama White House, the Swine Flu is a hoax and Adam Lambert was the true American Idol winner.

Nah, I'm just playin' wit ya ;-). I am a conspiracy theorist myself so I'm hearing you. Truth is, ya never know.....

Just goes to show that MTV and Viacom have a stranglehold in all media. They have to create their own news stories just to get people to tune back into their disgraced networks.

Is it working? No, I doubt it... but it did get you talking about something that happened on "MUSIC Television", and Jason, your post just keeps it rolling, you do know that right?

Could the point of Cohen's upcoming Bruno movie - to provoke spontaneous laughter fromr the over-the-top reactions of "real" people to the character and not so much the over-the-top behavior of the Brudo character - be something the more evolved Eminem was attracted to in agreeing to be part of MTV's extreme gag, I wonder?
