Marshall, Will, and Holly ... on a routine expedition

by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 5th 2009 5:26PM
The new Land of the Lost movie opens today, so I thought it would be appropirate to show the opening to the 70s kids show that inspired the film. Sure, the special effects look really lame today, but back then...well, they were lame back then too. But it was a fun show for kids.

I thought the movie was hilarious, inappropriate in so many ways, but absolutely hilarious. Matt Lauer can XXXX it...

I can say after watching another Land of the Lost marathon on SciFi Channel, I still like it - not as much as when I originally watched it when I was five, but still fun! Innocent 70's cheesy fun...and no, silly Sleestaks, I can say for sure Im no longer afraid of you!! :)

I watched about 3 shows of the marathon last weekend. They are great! I thought they eventually got home but I read they never did.

They've run at least 3 marathons of the original show on Sci Fi recently, and it holds up pretty well. Well enough, in fact, that I put the DVDs on my 'buy this' list.

And as CC says, they employed some quality writers for the show. I was pretty impressed with that myself.

Don't knock Land of the Lost. The Kroffts employed several former Star Trek scribes on that show.
