If Mark-Paul Gosselaar is on board, the Saved by the Bell reunion is as good as done

Saved by the BellMy sister was addicted to Saved by the Bell, and to the hotness that was Zack Morris in particular. I'm not sure if she checked out Late Night With Jimmy Fallon last night, but if she had she just might have been stunned to see Zack Morris there. And I do mean Zack Morris, because Mark-Paul Gosselaar did his entire interview in character as the coolest guy from Bayside High.

Considering that Gosselaar has been doing pretty well for himself post-Bell, with big roles in NYPD Blue and Raising the Bar, it's a big deal that he was not only willing to poke fun at his own roots (with The Roots as well for a rousing rendition of "Friends Forever"), but he also committed to Fallon's pet project: the Saved by the Bell reunion. Personally, I think a funny take on where those kids are today could be awesome. You could even work Showgirls into Jessie's post high school career path.

It would say a lot about the power of Jimmy Fallon and his new Late Night vision if he were able to actually pull off a reunion special of the characters. And I don't just mean hanging out on his set and reminiscing about the old days. I'm talking a full-on movie, probably made for television. Set it at as a twenty-year reunion of the Bayside High class of whatever they were and you've got your story. Am I actually getting myself excited about this idea?

This little skit by Fallon would be real fun except for Dustin Diamond. This is a media whore who is broke and out of work and looking for ANYTHING to get him noticed and in the tabloid papers. He threw a fit on CELEBRITY FIT CLuB...he fought with cast members and called the producers racist. At the same time, he was pushing his X-rated porno tape to get money. This reunion would be the ultimate chance for him to act disrespectful and cause a horrible scene. He's the proverbial loser...desperate for money and will make the sweet idea of a reunion of Saved By The Bell a big disgusting scene for him to capitalize on. I say NO GO....to the reunion...as long as Dustin Diamond is a part of it. He'll set everyone up to cause a scene to get publicity. And then he'll sue Fallon and find some sleazeball lawyer to say he lost money and profit by doing the Late night show. It's going to be a big mess as long as that a-hole DIamond is a part. Don't do it.... or do it without Dustin..yet he'd probably sue NBC for that as well. Cute idea but let it go...Dustin Diamond is too much of a risk.

I'm amazed that so many of the SBTB cast have done so well after the series ended. The show sucked, HARD.

Bad writing, bad acting, bad direction, bad plots, bad everything. It was truly abysmal (definition: wretched to the point of despair). The love felt for the show is 100% nostalgia, and those of us slightly too old for it at the time are utterly baffled by its popularity. It's kind of like "Full House" that way, I guess.

My sister was telling me how creepy good Mark looked and acted.. its like he didn't age at all. What a great sport especially since he has had arguably the best career since SBTB ended. Jimmie's show is getting better

I have this feeling that the whole cast was in on the reunion BEFORE Jimmy Fallon started the on-air campaign. Loved the mention of Stacey Carosi. I wonder if Leah Remini might show up...

Props to MP for staying in character the whole time, that was awesome. It really brought a smile to my face.

I would love to see a reunion of all the Saved by the Bell cast. Mark Paul Gosslear does look the same with that blond hair as he did all those years ago!

What a weird surreal moment, and congrats to Fallon for pulling something like this off. Not just the cast (character) reunion but to this the whole weirdness of having Gosselaar show up in character. With the bleached hair he really didn't look very much older from his younger self. I hope Tiffini Thessian agrees to it. She went pretty quickly from SBTB to Beverly Hills 91210 but hasn't done much acting work lately, so it would be intresting to see if she's still looking good.
