Top Chef Masters: The Lost Supper - open thread

by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 18th 2009 10:10AM
Dharma foodThis week, Lost's Carlton Cuse and Damon Lindelof (as well as several writers) came to the Top Chef table to be served food by the contestants and judge them. They're big fans of the show (even joking that the quality of Lost has gone downhill since they've been discussing the shows on Thursday mornings), and this episode had a Lost-themed challenge. They could only use certain Dharma foods and stuff that you could find on the island.

I've gotten used to the "four chefs compete" format, though that means we're not going to see some really talented, interesting chefs in the coming weeks.

what was with the lack of timers or time being called for the elimination round?
Not that the chef who suffered the most because of it would have had a different outcome, but because it made things seem more "fair" to have an announcement of time or a timer going off.

Last week's episode was much much better. None of the chefs this week were really likable and the winner had no personality.

We saw 4 really talented and interesting chefs last night.

Did you mean "we won't get to know really talented and interesting chefs"?

I think what he means is that many/all of the chefs are talented and interesting, but that, because of the format, we won't see three quarters of them again during the season.
