Stop Ryan Seacrest for Lindsay Lohan's sake

Somebody has to stop Ryan Seacrest. Please. I mean it. He's going too far. Seacrest tweeted that he is talking with Lindsay Lohan about her own reality show. Presumably it'll be in the vein of Ryan's other reality star vehicles, Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Denise Richards: It's Complicated. Notice that I didn't say it would have the same quality as those other shows because if you've ever watched more than an episode, you know that quality is not a requirement. Manipulation, mugging and broad fake emotions are all that's necessary.

So, Lindsay Lohan, heed my warning: stop talking to Ryan Seacrest. No good will come of it.

Lindsay has already made some ill-advised career big screen decisions -- Herbie Fully Loaded, Georgia Rule -- and her TV credits are not much better. Her stint on Ugly Betty is best forgotten. But a Ryan Seacrest produced reality show just screams, "wrong move."

You know, I don't say this with malice toward Ryan. He's serviceable on American Idol, and he seems determined to be the 21st century's Dick Clark. His ambition is admirable, but Lindsay Lohan needs to be doing something that will challenge her professionally as an actress, not exploit her as a celebrity.

Ryan's tweet said he likes to help people by giving them a second shot. If that's true, Seacrest, find her a good role and then produce a TV movie starring Lindsay, something that will capitalize on her talent. That'll be a better second shot for Lohan than reality TV fodder.

agree with you assessment, but I hate to tell you that a reality series on Lindsey would probably break all records. We're in a society where people really enjoying the guilty pleasure of watching a train wreck. Personally, I think there could be some GOOD REAL reality shows that can change someone's life, versus the passive pleasure we get from watching other peoples lives and being thankful for what we have.

Gee I don't know how about don't mention it or don't watch it? Noooo thats just too easy I suppose. Sound just as bad as the right wing bible thumpers whining about swear words in Saving Private Ryan or anything else that doesn't comform to their backassward 50's view. Don't like it don't watch it.

Guess Who

Lohan needs to just jump to strait to video movies with bad scripts and partial nudity like the long line of newly minted "D" listers before her.

Very few crawl back from the dank drug haze - Robert Downey and Drew Barrymore made it - most do not.

David - I am guessing that you are like me, you remember when MTV started in the 1980s and was "all music videos, all the time." At first without commercials even! Just 24 hours a day of music videos and for the most part, GOOD ones at that. MTV is a joke these days..there is no more M in the MTV! Like all else, it suscummed (sp?) to wanting "more money all the time" and dragged on show after show killing hour after hour of quality music videos we once enjoyed. What a shame - from no commericals and just music to a bunch of commercials and trash shows with NO music to be found to speak of. IMO - that sux!!!

TV Screener

This is probably the best comeback shot Lindsay Lohan has, short of lots of intense therapy. She should ask Seacrest where to sign and run with whatever he has in mind. Seriously.
