The results are in, and you voted Speidi off of E!

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 23rd 2009 2:02PM
Spencer Pratt & Heidi MontagSo E! ran a poll to see if their viewers wanted the network to stop covering the train wreck that is Speidi. Okay. Sure, that's fun. And by a startling 94% margin you have spoken, and you don't want E! covering Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag anymore. Even more surprising is that E! has agreed to follow this edict by their viewers and limit Spiedi stories only to life-altering or -ending events.

I think the celebrity-fueled tabloid news networks and magazines should look at these results and think about it. Speidi has been fueling many gossip stories the past few weeks, and here we find that nearly 100% of people don't want to hear it. And E! fans are gossipy fans to begin with.

I wouldn't be surprised if some of the other stories being beaten into the ground have had an equally sour taste in our mouths. Maybe this can be the start of a trend, where we're periodically asked which stories we've had enough of. Maybe we've had Susan Boyle shoved down our throats enough, talented or no. Can I vote for no more Jon & Kate coverage? What stories would you kill?

I like Speidi even if americans don´t like them. They are good entertainers.

I would have loved to see Al Roker drop Pratt like a bag of dirt though ...

From the E story: "Barring any actual news (e.g., she gets knocked up, he falls off a cliff or-heaven help us-her album goes to No. 1), consider this their very last post."

Eff yoooo! Now you're only going to report the "actual news"? Then what have you been reporting before? This is an overt admission that they are subjecting their viewers to dreck.

Just the possibility of no more Speidi makes my heart race. Ooh, what a wonderful world that would be!

And, yes, please, make Octomom the next target!

When Jon and Kate's "special announcement" is the third item on the local news programs, it's time to re-evaluate our priorities. Scary.
