MTV eulogizes Michael Jackson properly, with his music

by Jason Hughes, posted Jun 25th 2009 9:02PM
Michael JacksonThe death of Michael Jackson is a stunning blow to the entertainment medium. You'd think upon someone's death, the media could forget all the negative stuff for at least a minute and focus on the positive of their life. But apparently not. So when I got sick to death of Fox News and everyone else going on and on about the child molestation charges and the plastic surgery and all the other weird stuff we already know Michael Jackson is infamous for, I thought I'd check in with MTV.

Surely, considering his importance in the music video format, MTV would have a response. And it would mean a break from their glut of reality crap. What a pleasant surprise to see a marathon of Michael Jackson videos. This is how I want to memorialize a music legend. No matter what he did or didn't do with his life, the music will always be his legacy. Thank you MTV (I can't believe I'm saying that) for eulogizing Michael Jackson in the only way that truly matters. With his artistic genius.

It's refreshing to see there are people out there that do remember Michael for his positive impacts.

CLEARED OF ALL CHARGES. He settled out of court to avoid a long trial, and that was the problem - people thought it was an admittance of guilt, and that encouraged more greedy people to jump on board. IF HE WAS REALLY GUILTY THE FIRST TIME, WOULDN'T THEY HAVE PURSUED IT IN COURT? Yes. Repeat offenders molest LOTS of kids, not just a couple. It's an addiction. And it starts early in life for molesters, not late in their 30's. Do your research and get over it. And don't believe everything you hear on TV - work it out for yourself.

RIP, MJ. Love you!

MTV didn't do anything about recognizing Michael's passing until today, June 26th, at about around 3pm mountain time.

MTV, MTV2, and VH1 have done a poor service to Michael Jackson....and I'm not really even a big fan of Michael to say this. But what I'll admit is this man did a lot more for this music industry than what today's artist will ever achieve. His music writing ability and dedication to his stage performance is an act that for some reason can't be reaccomplished. It's real sad.

I'm hoping Michael's passing will prove a point once and fall for all artist of today's pop culture to realize that sex and party songs are falling flat. And in the world of Michael Jackson, that was only a small fraction to the whole value of what he was about.
