What is Project LENO?

by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 26th 2009 7:30PM
Lenoa. NBC's code name for what excuses they'll use to explain why The Jay Leno Show isn't a hit (or why it is a hit or why it started out well and then died off)

b. a new Bravo reality show where contestants compete to see who gets their own 10PM show

c. a new PBS documentary about Leno and his massive car collection

d. CBS' marketing plan to fight Leno

Here's the answer.

tvsquad I think this is the perfect time for us to finally take a stand and start a petition to put craig ferguson in HD and send it to CBS 58,763 times til they finally read it.
He's the king of late night for Christ sakes. Give him more puppets along with the HD!

Seriously though you guys should make a petition for it and have people sign it in the comments. Let's try and get a couple hundred comments. Come on its the summer anyways there's not much to write about, people would respond to it and if not for that its just something fun to do.

This is odd, since it definitely implies that CBS is kind of scared of Leno's potential numbers -- and I find that very odd. Why should they be scared of those potential ratings? They'll be PALTRY compared to "CSI: NY", "CSI: Miami", "Numb3rs", and "The Mentalist".

I don't think they are scared... I think they are trying to find ways to make the most of a good situation. A parallel might be a sports team or athlete trying to "pile on the stats" when playing against a much weaker opponent.

CBS knows they are going to win... now they just have to play the win to their best advantage.

It's a new technology that will allow Jay Leno to interact with his guests, responding to their movements, expressions and voice, just as if he were an actual human!
