Vandals deface Ed McMahon's Walk of Fame star

by Bob Sassone, posted Jun 29th 2009 10:06AM
Jeez, Ed McMahon just can't catch a break. First his death last week is overshadowed by the deaths of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett, and now someone put some sort of black goo and ripped newspapers on his Hollywood Walk of Fame Star.

But this particular story has a happy ending, as you'll see after the jump.

Someone cleaned up the mess and put flowers on the star.

Jeez, I was there yesterday, and saw a flower pot with daisies at his star and I was thinking how nice it was that someone put the nice tribute there...Of course, I forgot what a zoo Hollywood Blvd. was going to be on a Sunday right after several celebrities' deaths.

Sorry, but I can't help but be amused at the way you chose to phrase this. "First his death last week is overshadowed by the deaths of Michael Jackson and Farrah Fawcett..."

I think that part's second. I think it should be "First, he died."

Why would anyone mess with his star? Guess they either got ripped off by Cash4Gold, didn't win a giant check, or lost to some 4 year old singing sensation on star search? Can't really think of anything bad the man did (except those Cash4Gold commercials) but nothing where anyone was a real victim...

Yeah, the Cash4Gold commercials were a little sad, but the man was having severe cash problems so it was probably all for the money -- what little there might have been.

It's a little sad McMahon's life ended with him pretty much broke.
