VH1 keeps tarnishing my cherished celebrity memories

Rozanda Salt-N-Pepa and TLC. Two of the most significant and important female R&B groups of the past 25 years. Why couldn't it have just stayed that way? No, VH1 just had to drag members from both groups into their sick "looking for love" reality world. That's right, Pepa and Chilli are looking for love, on VH1 with a camera crew and eight half-hour episodes. Somehow I have a hard time imagining either of these women having a hard time picking up guys.

Can I just say to all the other celebrities out there who are looking at this as a good thing, just stop right there. Do you think people are respecting Bret Michaels for his music these days? He's more famous for whacking his head on a stage. If the music dries up down the road, I don't want to see Beyoncé and Justin Timberlake hawking themselves all over VH1 to try and find love. Not to mention: have they seen the kind of people these reality shows find for you to fall in love with?

I bet they put the shows back-to-back so the marketing team can throw out gems like, "It's time for an hour of red hot Chilli Pepa" and "This Chilli Pepa may just be too hot to handle!" or "Do you like Pepa with your Chilli?" Oh you can just see them salivating in their water bowls and speed dialing Weird Al for help with the food puns. Until Anthony Kiedis and Flea file suit. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted, kids.

I don't know if I can bring myself to watch these shows. Maybe I'll just bust out my old cassettes and jam to their music rather than watch Chilli chasing waterfalls and pepa talking about sex. I certainly don't want my most recent memory of either of them being some twenty-something drunken douchebag grinding all over them, or worse yet, salivating about their toes into the camera.

Chili ruined her image when she went on Sally Jessy Raphael to reunite with her estranged father. Ghetto!!!

With her issues...reality dating show was next.

are you really blaming vh1 for this? Pepa and Chili are probably desperate for the time and money, vh1 is taking advantage.

no worse than whatever Michael Jackson autobiography they put together for 2011, starring will smiths little kid as MJ in the Jackson 5....
