Big Brother 11: Nominations #1

Braden from Big Brother 11 is kind of out there, dude

(S11E02) Tonight's episode of Big Brother 11 was technically the nominations show. However, in true Big Brother fashion, it was full of fodder. It was during the fodder moments that I decided that surfer dude Braden isn't quite on the same plane as most of us. He just doesn't make sense! It's kind of like he wants to be the Ben Wade of the Big Brother house with spiritual philosophical mumbo-jumbo. But in reality, I fear he's just an eye-candy space cadet.

We got to know more about many of the hamsters this evening. I fear little of the material will endear any of us to them. If you're endeared to one, please feel free to treat me all snarky in comments if you wish. Sure, there were a few I kind of sort of might like. But usually by now I have a clear-cut favorite hamster, and that's just not happening this season.

I want to like the brainy clique. After all, I always got good grades in school. I'm smart. But just when I want to cheer them on, they miserably fail at the BB Rave! That's the replacement for the food comp this season. When a clique loses, they not only eat slop, but they're also given cold showers and have to sleep on floor mats in a barren room. I actually like that change ... especially since it freaked Chima out so much!

But how could the supposedly smart group not realize that the shortest distance between two points when building a pipeline would be a relatively straight line? Ronnie had them looping around like a Hot Wheels track! Sheesh! At least Casey of the Off Beat bunch figured the straight line bit out. Since I can roughly identify with both of those high school cliques, I guess I'm satisfied that one did well.

The group which is really getting my panties in a bunch is the "Athletes." Mind you, it's mainly the Russell and Jessie block. Jeff is an outsider within the clique and Natalie seems to be going with the flow. My main hope for her is that she's using Jessie and Russell, not that she's really impressed by them. Jessie and Russell have too much power right now and are akin to a huge boulder rolling down the mountain bound to destroy anything in their path. They must be stopped!

Oh, but not in tonight's episode. With Russell doing Jessie's thinking for him (despite the fact Jessie said that wouldn't happen), Jessie put Lydia on the block. Actually, Lydia is one of the few who intrigues me. Jessie wouldn't have put her on the block without Russell's input. Thanks to Ronnie's alliance approach to Jessie, Chima is on the block as a pawn. We know how that usually works out, don't we?

Who's playing a smart game? None of them right now. But hope springs eternal and, as Braden would say, the gods will smile their flowing rainbows our way.

OMG Jesse is back...boo! He just loves himself too much but he hasn't been nasty yet. Russell is a real tool & has Natalie trailing him around (didn't U all notice?) & I don't particularly like her. She is eager to jump the race card, just watch. Chima is butt ugly...big gross lips that have a life of their own & Diana Ross Super Big Poofie Hair & she cackles for goodness sake! I worked with a chick with that type of hair & it was ALL OVER the place, curled around the sinks & toilet & in the kitchen...ick! Ronnie is fun to watch as he screws with everyone. That plan won't work Mr Smart Guy. I think it is fun to watch no matter what & I am glad for the separation of the show nites to be back to normal...Sunday, Tuesday & Thursdays. Now if we can just get CBS to give a crap about us viewers & be careful how they deal with other things over-riding the show it will be a decent season.

not impressed w/ the show this year so far. like the changes. hate the cliques. aarrgghh. jessie is so trying out for muscle and fitness magazine walking around with his shirt off and kissing his arms. lol spare me. But this is summer TV so I'll check it out a few more times, but so far. . . my grade is D.

So far it's been a bit boring in the house but I'll enjoy it a lot more when they get pinhead Jesse and the other meathead, Russell, out of there. Why they persist in showing so much of muscle-brain Jesse makes me wonder if A. Grodin is trying to throw this show off the air.

'Eye candy space cadet'? Ha. Maybe, but I'm a fan of Braden's 'mumbo-jumbo'! It adds a great flavor to the show. I don't think he's playing a game though, he's just hanging out riding the experience.

The episode was definitely pushing Ronnie and Lydia tonight. They are both playing the game way hard, going to be interesting to see how that works for them in the next few weeks. If people start seeing what Ronnie is up to all the time in the background, he's going to get blasted.

And, bleh, more Jessie being a narcissistic meatball. I agree, he and Russell need to be stopped and deleted from the house.

I can't believe this crap of a show is still on. Why would you watch this and who would want to even be on it? They all look and act like a bunch of idiots.
