Where do you write from?Texas, where Slim Jims and breakfast tacos have their own level on the food pyramid.
Craziest/funniest TV Squad comment you've seen?
I had only been writing here for a week when one commenter awarded me with the "Gilded Douche Bag award." I was so proud when I received it. It looks great on the mantle in between the can of whoop ass I received for calling the Cowboys an overrated, rich boy's team in a Dallas bar and my B'nai B'rith award.
That would have to be QI: Quite Interesting, an impossibly hard British comedy panel show hosted by Stephen Fry and comedian Alan Davies on BBC. It's an oddball choice for this funky bunch, but it combines my three favorite types of shows: British comedy shows, information shows that entertain as well as they educate and game shows. Top Gear would also fall under that category because I'm such a gearhead wannabe.
Most overrated and underrated TV show (current or past)?
Underrated: Futurama - It's such a smart, complex and clever animated show that delves into satire and comedy on a much deeper and delicate level. Matt Groening is a comedy genius. The fact that it got canned after four seasons and Family Guy kept rising from the dead proves there is no God.
Overrrated: Family Guy - Because it proves there is no God.
Best benefit of writing for TV Squad?
Mom always told me I'd never get a job watching TV. Now I get to make her eat those words every time I cash the paycheck. Eat it, Mom!
Where else can we see you on the web?
I write comedy features and lists for Cracked.com, Asylum.com and Spike.com, articles and features for Mental_Floss Magazine (www.mentalfloss.com) and comedy sketches for the Shadowbox Comedy and Rock 'n Roll theater in Columbus (www.shadowboxcabaret.com). I also write a personal blog at www.dannygallagher.net and www.myspace.com/dannyghatesmyspace.
