America's Got Talent Top 40 list

America's Got Talent
This past week, we were treated to two rather cruel and evil "Vegas Verdicts" episodes of America's Got Talent. During those two episodes, judges reviewed the auditions and chose who would be part of the Top 40. Many fans, me included, are angry at some of the choices the judges made. They let people with no talent be part of the Top 40 while some with amazing acts were sent packing.

It was impossible, after watching the two episodes, to come up with the exact list of the Top 40. TV Squad reader Aml commented on my review of last night's episode that the numbers didn't add up and it looked like the judges picked a Top 37 rather than 40, meaning that the Simon Cowell curve ball we are waiting for next week may be that more acts need to be added.

Well, NBC just released the Top 40 list.

  1. Acrodunk, Houston, Texas (Basketball Dunking Entertainers)
  2. African High Flyers, Orlando, Florida (Acrobats)
  3. Allzma, Las Vegas, Nevada (Singers/Musicians)
  4. Arcadian Broad, Orlando, Florida (Dancer)
  5. Barbara Padilla, Houston, Texas (Opera Singer)
  6. Breaksk8, Kokomo, Indiana (Breakdancing Roller Skaters)
  7. Bri Bernstein, Las Vegas, Nevada (Singer/Musician)
  8. Carol Loo, Jersey City, New Jersey (Dancer)
  9. Charles DeWayne, La Verne, California (Singer/Musician)
  10. Coney Island Chris, Naugatuck, Connecticut (Slideshow)
  11. Dave Johnson, Renton, Washington (Acoustic Comedy)
  12. Drew Thomas, Orlando, Florida (Illusionist)
  13. Eleisha Miller, Amarillo, Texas (Singer/Pianist)
  14. EriAm, Seattle, Washington (Singing Group)
  15. Erik and Rickie, Seattle, Washington (Ballroom Dancers)
  16. Fab 5, Morgan, Utah (Power Tap Dancers)
  17. FootworKINGz, Chicago, Illinois (Dance Ensemble)
  18. G-Force, Amherst, Ohio (Girl Band)
  19. Grandma Lee, Jacksonville, Florida (Comedian)
  20. Hairo Torres, Grants Pass, Oregon (Breakdancer)
  21. Ishaara, Berkely, California (Bollywood Dance Group)
  22. Jeffrey Ou, Carrollton, Texas (Pianist)
  23. Kevin Skinner, Mayfield, Kentucky (Singer/Guitarist)
  24. Lawrence Beamen, Walnut Creek, California (Singer)
  25. Manuela Horn, Seattle, Washington (Comedic variety)
  26. Marcus Terrell, Kansas City, Missouri (Singer)
  27. Mario & Jenny, Las Vegas, Nevada (Comedy Variety Duo)
  28. Matt & Anthony, New York, New York (Dance/Musician Duo)
  29. Mia Boostrom, North Dighton, Massachusetts (Singer/Musician)
  30. Mosaic, Las Vegas, Nevada (A Capella Singing Group)
  31. Pam Martin & Viva, Garland, Texas (Dog Variety Act)
  32. Paradizo Dance, Brooklyn, New York (Acrobatic Dance Group)
  33. Pixies Mystere, Cape May, New Jersey (Dance/Contortionist Group)
  34. Pete Peterkin "The Rock & Roll President," Brooklyn, New York (Impersonator)
  35. The Platt Brothers, San Diego, California (Variety Act)
  36. Recycled Percussion, Goffstown, New Hampshire (Band)
  37. The Texas Tenors, Houston, Texas (Singing Group)
  38. Thia Megia, Tracy, California (Singer)
  39. Tony Hoard, New Castle, Indiana (Canine Flying Disc Team)
  40. The Voices of Glory, Highland, New York (Singers)

The list does include acts we've barely seen during the audition and selection process. Sadly, the Top 40 still excludes fan faves such as 8-year-old singer Ciana, guitarist extraordinaire Tallan, and singer Kari.

Are you happy with the Top 40? Do you expect Simon's curve ball to be that it'll become a Top 45 so to include acts that should have been picked up?

The Top 40 starts to perform live for America's votes next week. The August 5th one-hour results show will include performances by singer Mariah Carey and Terry Fator.

Are you happy with the Top 40?
Hell no!404 (43.3%)
Yippee Yes!79 (8.5%)
I don't mind the Top 40 if Simon Cowell's curevall equals adding Ciana, Tallan and Kari.449 (48.2%)

i hate how during these weeks everyone who made it 2 the top 40 were godd, but wen they chose for the ones who got in fifth and sixth during the weeks, the judges made the wrong decisions. like in week 1, it was between thia megia and arcadian broad, thia was sent home cuz of david and sharon, cuz they like diversity wen its based on talent, and arcadian made it, thia should hav went to the next round, and in week 2 it was charles dawyne and tony and rory, again piers voted charles, and tony and rory went through, wut the hell is up with these judges, piers made the right decisions, but david and sharon are messes up!!!!! btw there were also a lot of talents that were sent home at first but should get another chance and im gonna watch out if they do get another chance

I forgot, I think Nick Cannon is a crappy host, Jerry Springer was fair to all acts and didn't get in anyone's personal space. He also spoke and acted like a normal human being. Nick says all acts of black people (not being racist) are going to be amazing and anything else could be bad. He also overeacts backstage so the camera was on him instead of the act (during auditions). I think he is totally sacarine sweet and the fakest person on earth.

Personally, I thought Tallen was crap, but not sending Kari through was sickening. I think they didn't send her through because she doesn't look right for an hour long show in Vegas. That is bs. They also should've put through the girl who played the harp and sang instead of that kid who basically just banged on the piano and thought he did an amazing job. They should replace the judges with real sinders/dancer/artists/magicians because they would now talent, but the Hoff is drunk half the time and can't think straight, Sharon thinks everything is amazing, and Piers is so egotistical it isn't even funny. He thinks he is someone that can say almost everyone on the show is terrible, what has he done that was ata ll notable?

I thought that Kari Callin was the best singer on that show! She was amazing and all the media was saying that she was our next Susan Boyle! WTF judges! You guys aren't even American! You've got two British people and a flaming homosexual of a German!! I say get some American singers and talent scouts to be the judges! I bet that the foreigners are planning to get a crappy winner to make their countries seem better than the USA on the world stage!! >:0

I have no real problems with the top 40. I was shocked Ciana Pelekai didn't make it but that annoying little smily faced blond girl did.
I would like it if Kari was given another chance. I really like her and I've met her a few times when I would have MRI and CAT scans (having epilepsy makes me have to have those) and she is a wonderfully nice lady with big dreams.
Even so, I am mainly rooting for Kevin Skinner at this point. As long as he makes it to the top 5 and gets a music contract and I get his first album, I'm content.

Some of these acts in the Top 40 are downright AWFUL! The dancing grandma??? The glass eater??? Wha?

Now, there are some TERRIFIC acts: Lawrence Beaman, whose "Ol' Man River" was AMAZING, or Kevin Skinner, the KY chicken wrangler.

I can't wait to see what Simom Cowell has up his sleeve for next week. I hope it is a few wild cards, so America can bring back some TRULY deserving people and give America a TRULY talented list of performers to choose from this season.

BTW: Nick Cannon is a great host... I love watching him. He seems genuinely interested in the contestants and very supportive.
