Where I'm from in Minnesota, when you spit at someone through your teeth, that's called a "gleek." Apparently whoever came up with the fan term didn't do much research.

Going by that definition... I was a gleek.
Of course in the seventies it wasn't cool to call it glee club, it was chorus, robed chorus, concert chorus, Madrigals and so on...
