HBO Renews True Blood, Hung, Entourage & More TV News

Good news for HBO fans: The network has announced season renewal orders for 'True Blood,' 'Entourage' and 'Hung.'Also in the news today: Amy Poehler returns to 'Saturday Night Live' (on Thursdays!), while Joey Lauren Adams joins the cast of 'The United States of Tara.'

HBO has renewed 'True Blood,' 'Hung' and 'Entourage.' The network, which made the announcement at yesterday's TCAs, said all three shows will return next year, with 'True Blood' locked in for a summer 2010 launch. [Live Feed]
Amy Poehler is about to pull double duty on NBC Thursdays. The 'SNL' alum will return for two episodes of 'Saturday Night Live: Weekend Update Thursday' on Sept. 17 and 24 at 8PM, which will lead into two brand new episodes of 'Parks and Recreation' at 8:30PM. Season 7 of 'Curb Your Enthusiasm' will premiere Sept. 20 on HBO. The 10-episode season will re-unite 'Seinfeld' stars Jerry Seinfeld, Jason Alexander, Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Michael Richards for five episodes; their storyline will revolve around them organizing a 'Seinfeld' reunion special. 'Chasing Amy' star Joey Lauren Adams has signed on for at least three episodes of 'The United States of Tara,' premiering early 2010. Adams will play Pammy, a woman who falls for Buck (Toni Collette) after a long streak of picking the wrong guys. Guess this mean's Pammy's streak will continue. [Ausiello Files]
'Bones' may have plans for another Fox crossover. The series, which teamed up with 'Family Guy' last season, is now eyeing a storyline with 'Lie to Me,' although insiders claim it's in the early stages and "may not even happen." [Ausiello Files]
'The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien''s ratings continue to plummet, particularly in the 35-plus demo. Last week, 'Conan' finished third overall behind 'Letterman' and 'Nightline' for the third and fifth straight weeks, despite holding onto the 18-49 demo. As if NBC needed another reason to anticipate Leno's return. [Variety]
USA Network has officially picked up 'Covert Affairs.' The show stars Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham, and is said to be about a CIA trainee (Perabo) who "mysteriously" gets promoted to field operative. [Variety]Hot New Posts:
