How did the Scooby gang get together anyway?

by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 4th 2009 6:04PM
Ever wonder how the Scooby gang got together to solve crimes? Cartoon Network has a new live-action movie coming this fall titled Scooby-Doo: The Mystery Begins that tells the story. Here's the trailer. I don't like how Scooby is done in these movies, but I guess a real dog would be even worse.

I just watched the movie tonight and was very disappointed!! Not only did the characters not match the original from the scooby doo tv show (Fred was blonde, their outfits were completly different, and since when was it daphne's van?) Anyway Scooby also didn't sit right with me. The way he was presented and even his voice was not really great. Also I wish they had used the original story line. In what's new scooby doo, shaggy and scooby look at a scrapbook and you can tell they knew each other as baby and puppy. I would much rather have seen that story line, than shaggy being a loser with no friends and scooby just happening to run into his open basement window and land right on top of him. Is that really logical?! I have to rate this very low on my scale! :(

Cool. Oddly, I actually find myself interested in seeing this! I never saw the movies in theatres, but for some reason this one interests me.

A brunet Fred? Huh come on at least they could have gotten a blond or dyed the guys hair or a wig. Fred was the jock, the looker of the group. This guy looks dopey.

You don't like the CG Scooby and you don't like a real dog as Scooby. What other option is there?

Without Matthew Lillard or a voice over from Casey Kasem, this won't even be a C+ as a direct to DVD release.

I remember a show called " A Pup Named Scooby Doo" and as far as it is concerned that shit is canon, even the Cheese Monster.
