Nurse Jackie: Nosebleed

(S01E09) "She's just a nurse." - Dr. Cooper to Melissa, talking about Jackie
Sometimes I think Dr. Cooper is starting to be a human being, and then he turns around and says something really stupid. Females are naturally more empathetic than guys, so I would think that having two moms would have made him a little bit more sensitive. Guess not.
He really was a jerk in this episode, and I imagine Jackie having to make the decision about the organ donor (the PETA card!) will come back to haunt her. But what's a nurse to do? Get another doctor maybe? I don't care if he DID stay awake for 53 hours once.
I wonder if Grace is going to do something drastic at some point, what with her wishing the hospital would burn down, so Jackie wouldn't have to go to work. She really is a good kid, but as we've all speculated in the reviews and comments, I'm sure some of Jackie's stress is affecting Grace, too. Loved the scene where she lets go of one of her balloons, so Fiona wouldn't feel bad about losing one of hers.
That baby Mrs. Akalitus was caring for is so adorable! I loved the scene where she's dancing around the office with the baby, with the music playing in the background. Who was singing? Dinah Washington? Maybe Sarah Vaughn? Some of you jazz aficionados can tell me.
Funny scene where she asked Mo-Mo about his gay friends adopting children. I don't know that I would have been able to give the baby back, but hopefully, the baby's grandfather will knock some sense into the parents. Imagine leaving your baby in a hospital so you can go to Atlantic City for the weekend. Shameful and neglectful. Mrs. Akalitus should have reported them to social services. I thought for a minute she might carry through on her "the baby is dead" thing. I certainly would have been tempted.
Hmmm ... wonder how Jackie's deteriorating nose will affect her drug addiction. She certainly can't go around bleeding on everyone. Maybe a drug expert will tell me why she can't just take the drugs in pill form. Faster acting through the nose?
Other favorite scenes:
Jackie sending several boxes of lice treatment to the rich woman's doorman.
Eddie wanting to meet Jackie's kid. Something tells me there will be a trip-up, and Jackie's husband won't be so understanding.
Jackie perturbed that Dr. O'Hara's been talking to her sister about her:
O'Hara: "I think of YOU as a sister."
Jackie: "Think again."
I can't even speculate what's going on there, because Jackie and O'Hara always seemed really close. Maybe Jackie's pushing her away so she doesn't find out about the drugs?
I have a lot of questions in this review! Feel free to offer your thoughts, opinions and answers in the comments.
