Hell's Kitchen: Episode 4 - open thread

Hell's Kitchen

I'm not even sure I want to watch this show anymore. I will because I'm kinda invested in it, but I'm getting sick of the formula and Ramsay's screaming (and the screaming of others) just seems half for show, half real. Last night he yelled at Bobby for swearing and yelling in the kitchen in front of customers. Yeah chef, we wouldn't want to have any of that in Hell's Kitchen.

What did everyone else think?

I suppose I am a weirdo. I still love the show.
As for Robert, I think he should leave Hell's Kitchen and check out the BIGGEST LOSER! He is so young, must have high BP, nearly died last season. Last season I was very put off about the way he spoke about women. He is a JERK..
Lovely? when she sat on her butt the first episode, I just knew she was going to get knocked out then. Sadly I was wrong....Good riddance~

I totally agree with your every point, Christine! I was so disappointed to see that jerk, Robert, come back this season and I also thought Lovely should have gone the first night. This show can be frustrating at times but I still love it!

If Robert is so concerned for his health, as he screamed yesterday about almost dying, he hasn't done much to fix it, now, has he? No, he goes right back to a high stress situation, and acts as if he is the greatest chef ever. NOT. You don't hear the poor guys with real injuries complaining. They keep going, and don't whine. I love GR, and will watch him on any network. Except for the F word. As a vegetarian, it makes me queasy to watch him raise his food then eat it.

I can't understand why Robert was asked back. His heart was the reason why he left. He doesn't look like he lost any weight to help that problem, looks like he has gained and his problem might arise again.

Hell's Kitchen will heat up when the show heads to Whistler.

Saskatchewan's brewpubs would help cool them down.

i actually find Robert's actions on the show the season the most real aspect of the season. his dreams were dashed the prior season when he almost died, so he was invited back. now that he has another opportunity, he is a little panicked that he may lose it again, so his reaction seems very real.

however, this season is still very much annoying.

I will continue to watch, but find the show a little unreal this year. How in the world did that nut job David get on the show with his attitude. Robert ???? should never have been asked bad. His ego and his attitude is off the wall. He is not what he thinks he is. As far as all the others, gosh, they are all worthless and full of themselves. The show has run its course.

I was thinking the same thing. None of these people seem like they would be capable of being chef at one of his restaurants. Granted, the winners don't always get the head chef position, but still, would you want any of this group in your kitchen? Seems like they went for loony rather than capable.

The show has seemed to lost it's way this season. It has sacrificed quality chefs (compared to past seasons) for entertaining/controversial people.

I would rate the season a C- overall. I will continue to watch to see if it gets better. As was mentioned, with a DVR I can cut the show down to about 35 minutes.

As expected, US TV just hammer a format into the ground. Here in the UK, Ramsey only did ONE series of Hell's Kitchen. Then he diversified with things like Kitchen Nightmares and The F Word, etc. I know he did KN in the US, too, but it's little wonder people are getting bored of him on HK. I guess the money's too good for Ramsey to stop doing it while he's "hot", and Fox are likewise hungry for ad revenue while it's still watched.
