Dethklok, the animated heavy metal band heading up Adult Swim's Metalocalypse,is going live action and heading out on a 34-city North American tour.Grammy Award-winning band Mastodon hits the road with Dethklok. Surprisingly enough, Mastodon is a small chamber orchestra specializing in the work of Debussy.
Actually, no. It's not. Mastodon is a big, loud, heavy metal act ready to rival Dethklok in the blown-out amp count when the tour kicks off on October 2 in Portland, Ore. You can get tickets online here.
A ticket pre-sale is on now, while the full allotment of tickets will go on sale to the general public starting Friday, August 7.
Dethklok is made up of Nathan Explosion, William Murderface, Skwisgaar Swigelf, Toki Wartooth and Pickles. Of course, they'll be portrayed onstage by series co-creator Brendon Small and an all-star band including Gene Hoglan, Bryan Beller and Mike Keneally. The real life-musicians will perform live while dark-lit and playing underneath a projection screen featuring all-new animation and music videos from Dethklok.
