'Family Guy' Abortion Episode Details Revealed & More TV News

Family GuyCan 'American Idol' really exist without Paula Abdul? Fox thinks so. The show has already scheduled guest judges for the audition rounds, and is expected to find a permanent replacement for Paula by January.

Also in the news today: Virginia Madsen will guest on 'Monk,' while the details of 'Family Guy''s abortion themed episode are revealed.

The episode, titled 'Partial Terms of Endearment,' was reportedly set around an infertile couple who asks Lois to be their surrogate mother -- only to die in a car accident. Lois must then decide whether to have an abortion, a procedure she ultimately goes through with. [Live Feed]

Jay-ZJay-Z, Rihanna and Kanye West will perform 'Run This Town' on 'The Jay Leno Show''s inaugural episode, airing Sept. 14 on NBC. Additionally, Leno says musical guests will appear "at least once or twice a week," but not on every show. [Variety]


Laurence FishburneLaurence Fishburne will take part in a major 'CSI' crossover this November. The Oscar-nominated star will appear on 'CSI: Miami,' 'CSI: New York' and his regular gig, 'CSI,' over the course of one week -- presumably in his brand new wardrobe. [TV Guide Magazine]


Paula Abdul'American Idol'
plans to replace ex-judge Paula Abdul. Network president Peter Rice says 'Idol' will use female guest judges during the audition rounds, including pop stars Victoria Beckham and Katy Perry, until the show can figure out a more permanent solution. Virginia MadsenOscar nominee Virginia Madsen ('Sideways') is joining 'Monk' season 8, premiering this Friday on USA. Madsen will play T.K. Gordon RamsayFox is adding more Gordon Ramsay to its menu. The network has renewed 'Hell's Kitchen' for an eighth season, while setting a premiere date for 'Cook Along,' a one-hour special in which viewers take part in a live cooking session with Ramsay. Louis C.K.FX has filmed a new pilot featuring stand-up comedian Louis C.K. in the lead. The half-hour comedy series will revolve around stand-up routines and sketches based on his own accounts as a comedian and divorced father of two. Think 'Funny People: The Series.' [Variety]
