America, here's your new Dancing with the Stars cast

DWTSABC announced the new Dancing with the Stars cast today. If you've been living under a rock the past few years, the announcement of the new DWTS cast is now given all of the gravitas as the naming of a new Pope.

Here we go:

Quck thoughts: My first reaction was of course these celebs are doing Dancing with the Stars. But I actually think that this show is better than most reality or reality competition shows. At least it's mostly for fun and the stars don't have delusions of stardom. We knew Donny Osmond was going to be on the show. I think he and Marie have some intense competition thing going on. Sports stars are well represented (Michael Irvin, Natalie Coughlin), and Joanna Krupa is now making a career of being on reality shows. I think the secret front runner here might be Mark Dacascos. Just look at those moves he makes on Iron Chef America.

No idea who Mya is.

Like everyone else I think the most interesting name on the list is Tom Delay. Though I would have gone with Dan Quayle.

My early picks would be Melissa Joan Hart and Debi Mazar (if she can keep her attitude in check).

Mya's biggest hit is the Lady Marmalade remake with Xtina, Lil' Kim, and Missy Elliot--oh, and P!nk.


Regardless, Mya is a trained dancer. WTF?

Let's hope Marc Dacascos shows off his capoeira moves from 'Only the Strong'. If they couple him with Cheryl, they can be a Filipino power pair.

Mark Dacascos is of course Mr. Chairman on "Iron Chef America" but before that he also played Eric Draven on the TV series "The Crow: Stairway to Heaven."

Some people I know, some people I don't know, which is par for the course each season. It'll be fun, as usual, if only because Tom Bergeron is the best show host.

Mya is actually an excellent dancer. She was in Cell Block Tango in the movie of Chicago, I think her verse was about killing the painter. I think she is a bit of a ringer.
