Big Brother 11: Nominations #5

(S11E17) I think Michele's eyes are glazing over and she's put herself into a coma state as she listens to Chima rant on about Russell in the head of household room. You see, Chima isn't over her loss of power to Jeff's use of the coup d'etat in the Big Brother 11 eviction this past week. How dare Jeff change her nominations! How dare America screw her over by voting to give Jeff the power! How dare they evict Jessie (the man, the myth, the legend) instead of her choice of Russell, the terrorist. Mind you, those are her words ... not mine.
Someone had to hit 'em in the head with a crazy stick
Yes, that's the only explanation for the way Chima, Natalie, and Lydia are reacting to Jessie's eviction. They had a wake for him. Yes, you heard me. They cried as they spoke their eulogies of such a fine and good man. Did you know he never said a mean thing? He's an angel right here on earth!
With Chima, I think the fact that she "was robbed" of her HoH power is playing more of a role in her behavior than the loss of Jessie from the house. Yes, he's only gone from the house. Despite their reactions, he's not deceased. Chima, girl, you've got issues. I'm a woman. I think strong women are a good thing. But she's reminding me of Calvin and Hobbes' secret club Get Rid of Slimy Girls (G.R.O.S.S.) in reverse. She's a misandrist!
Lydia is just out there. I don't think she's as vindictive as Chima, but that crazy stick definitely did its work on her. I wanted so much to like her because she originally seemed creative, her own person, and zany. She's actually a bit sad. I find it hard to believe she was the nanny for Heather Mills and Paul McCartney's child. That's just scary.
Then there's Natalie. She hasn't had to fight for anything before in the house. She always had Jessie to hide behind. Need I mention she hasn't won a competition in the house either? She has a mysterious boyfriend who seems to have no name, yet she clung to Jessie like he was her savior. She's got spunk and a definite street edge about her. Tonight she told us she was going to start playing the game. Um, isn't it time? She also drank Jessie's wine with no mention of her lie about being 18.
Michele, you go with your bad BB-playing self
Michele has been a bit of a wild card throughout the season. She's strayed into the territory of both sides, lied, and schemed with the best of them. Yet it's hard to get a handle on her. I never know where her true loyalties are really vested.
Well, tonight she put the stakes in and declared her allegiance. Even though Russell treated her horribly just a week ago, she decided to fall in with the Jeff, Jordan, and Russell group. She nominated Chima and Natalie with the target being Chima. Huh. Maybe the neurosurgeon PhD gal does have some smarts! She's not going to win it all, no. I just don't see the jury voting for her no matter whom she's against if she makes the final two. But she gets my kudos for standing up to the Bully Bunch who have ridden the top wave too long in the house.
A few quick takes on the others
- Jeff: I like him, seems like a nice Chicago guy. I love his relationship with Jordan -- it's refreshing and such a change of pace from sordid cheap showmances (cough ... Jessie and Lydia ... cough).
- Jordan is a ray of sunshine. This girl has to be one of the nicest people ever to be a hamster in the house. She's also not as dumb as she comes across on the show.
- Poor Kevin. He realizes that his own poor choices of allies (or ally, Lydia) most likely have doomed his own game strategy.
- Russell: He has a temper, he can bully for sure. But there's something upstanding about him in the spool of lies on the show. I honestly think he would give the PoV to save Jeff if he won it. I believe with the important things, his word may be golden.
The Tuesday teaser
Oh, fine. End the show with "tune in Tuesday as one of the houseguests self-destructs and is removed from the house." Sheesh! Just read the live feeds or check out the spoilers post right here on TV Squad. Nothing like dragging out the drama with pseudo-cliffhangers!
