Big Brother 11: Nominations #5

by Jackie Schnoop, posted Aug 17th 2009 1:17AM
Michele listens to Chima in the BB11 house

(S11E17) I think Michele's eyes are glazing over and she's put herself into a coma state as she listens to Chima rant on about Russell in the head of household room. You see, Chima isn't over her loss of power to Jeff's use of the coup d'etat in the Big Brother 11 eviction this past week. How dare Jeff change her nominations! How dare America screw her over by voting to give Jeff the power! How dare they evict Jessie (the man, the myth, the legend) instead of her choice of Russell, the terrorist. Mind you, those are her words ... not mine.

Someone had to hit 'em in the head with a crazy stick
Yes, that's the only explanation for the way Chima, Natalie, and Lydia are reacting to Jessie's eviction. They had a wake for him. Yes, you heard me. They cried as they spoke their eulogies of such a fine and good man. Did you know he never said a mean thing? He's an angel right here on earth!

With Chima, I think the fact that she "was robbed" of her HoH power is playing more of a role in her behavior than the loss of Jessie from the house. Yes, he's only gone from the house. Despite their reactions, he's not deceased. Chima, girl, you've got issues. I'm a woman. I think strong women are a good thing. But she's reminding me of Calvin and Hobbes' secret club Get Rid of Slimy Girls (G.R.O.S.S.) in reverse. She's a misandrist!

Lydia is just out there. I don't think she's as vindictive as Chima, but that crazy stick definitely did its work on her. I wanted so much to like her because she originally seemed creative, her own person, and zany. She's actually a bit sad. I find it hard to believe she was the nanny for Heather Mills and Paul McCartney's child. That's just scary.

Then there's Natalie. She hasn't had to fight for anything before in the house. She always had Jessie to hide behind. Need I mention she hasn't won a competition in the house either? She has a mysterious boyfriend who seems to have no name, yet she clung to Jessie like he was her savior. She's got spunk and a definite street edge about her. Tonight she told us she was going to start playing the game. Um, isn't it time? She also drank Jessie's wine with no mention of her lie about being 18.

Michele, you go with your bad BB-playing self
Michele has been a bit of a wild card throughout the season. She's strayed into the territory of both sides, lied, and schemed with the best of them. Yet it's hard to get a handle on her. I never know where her true loyalties are really vested.

Well, tonight she put the stakes in and declared her allegiance. Even though Russell treated her horribly just a week ago, she decided to fall in with the Jeff, Jordan, and Russell group. She nominated Chima and Natalie with the target being Chima. Huh. Maybe the neurosurgeon PhD gal does have some smarts! She's not going to win it all, no. I just don't see the jury voting for her no matter whom she's against if she makes the final two. But she gets my kudos for standing up to the Bully Bunch who have ridden the top wave too long in the house.

A few quick takes on the others

  • Jeff: I like him, seems like a nice Chicago guy. I love his relationship with Jordan -- it's refreshing and such a change of pace from sordid cheap showmances (cough ... Jessie and Lydia ... cough).
  • Jordan is a ray of sunshine. This girl has to be one of the nicest people ever to be a hamster in the house. She's also not as dumb as she comes across on the show.
  • Poor Kevin. He realizes that his own poor choices of allies (or ally, Lydia) most likely have doomed his own game strategy.
  • Russell: He has a temper, he can bully for sure. But there's something upstanding about him in the spool of lies on the show. I honestly think he would give the PoV to save Jeff if he won it. I believe with the important things, his word may be golden.

The Tuesday teaser

Oh, fine. End the show with "tune in Tuesday as one of the houseguests self-destructs and is removed from the house." Sheesh! Just read the live feeds or check out the spoilers post right here on TV Squad. Nothing like dragging out the drama with pseudo-cliffhangers!

Chima, Chima, Chima. What a spoiled brat. Was it only Sunday that your Grandma said she was so proud of you? Wonder what she saying now? You have showed the world what kind of person you really are! A shallow person for sure. WTG Jeff & Jordan

Well, Well, Well.!!!!! Looks like the force has arrived ! Cool, calm and collected have almost overcome the evil....
Great job Jeff !
" Fan " tastic strategy "Michele" on your part !
Totally back you in your nomination decision ! Job well done !!!! If for nothing, at least, you are on the side who will take you to the end but, concentrate on winning more competions. It will be to your benefit ! Duh ! I knew you have figured that out already..by the way you have a nice family and enjoyed your HOH room !!!!!
Good luck to "you four".

The thing that gets me is how they accuse people that vote against their wishes as somehow being incapable of holding true to an alliance... Like the only alliance/interests in the house are their own. Why would Jeff bow to their alliance? How do they not see that that would've been a betrayal of his own? They really have convinced themselves that they are the only ones that exist, or at the very least matter.

It's delusional.

I am going to defend Chima a little bit and say this: had Jeff been HOH and someone in the "Jessie's Girls" clique used the coup power, everyone would be up in arms about a "bad" person winning this season. Her power was usurped, in the sense that the power was used, and she was angry about it. She will be missed because there will be no more drama as this season comes to a close.

While anyone would have complained about their nominees being taken down with no way to do anything about it Chima, Lydia, and Natalie all took it too far by being as childish as they were afterward. I don't think any of the others would have taken their clothes or kept them from doing their laundry and basically just done whatever they could to piss them off.

Chima has to win the Humongous Sour Grapes award for the poorest sportmanship in history. That girl is just plain whacko.

That wake was spooky. A seance will be next, I'm sure.

Maybe a little off topic I have been purposely avoiding the spoilers for who leaves but I figured there were 3 possibilities for who it may be. I missed the show last night so I went to CBS.com to watch it this morning and right there on the front page was who went home. I was a little disappointed that CBS would put it up on their front page when it hasn't aired on TV yet because I prefer to watch it happen rather than read about it. Anyways I'm done with my little rant so onto the episode. I think Jeff described it best when he said that they weren't really as mad at him as they were that they realized they aren't running the house anymore with Jessie gone. Now Nastylie has to actually compete to stay in it and Lydia is really in no different position than she ever was before. The only ally she really has in the house is Kevin and since he didn't use the veto power to get her off the block who knows how strong that even is anymore. My favorite part of the entire episode was when the girls were eulogizing Jessie and seeing Kevin's reaction on camera and in the diary room, classic.

Gordy:It IS Chima.Did anyone catch Natalie telling Jessie at his eviction she wanted to see him outside of the house? What boyfriend Natalie?Toward the end of this ep you could see the edit working to show Chima as depressed and uncooperative, angry etc.A build up to the blow up and removal.Chima's family expressed disappointment with her and they were right.Sad.I couldn't believe the Jessie wake. And he never said a bad thing?Maybe they're not only stupid but can't remember anything.I agree wuth the comments about Jeff,Jordan and Russell. And yea Michele for growing a pair and acting on some element of principal. Her comments on Chima being a competetor and in the diary room were diplomatic but she was sick and tired of Chima madness.Somewhere in all this I heard "double eviction",not sure now with the Chima thing.

Glad to see I was wrong. Hating the Chima clique. Hopefully it's Chima that self destructs...she doesn't look far away. She's going to hit someone.
