Stewie really, really wants to win an Emmy

by Bob Sassone, posted Aug 19th 2009 10:30AM
This web-only video below is part of the "Where's My Emmy?" campaign to convince people to vote for Family Guy. It starts out funny (with a joke or two about The Office) but then turns really unfunny when Stewie starts to beat up Brian.

It's not that I don't think that there's something naturally funny about someone getting beaten up on a cartoon (and I'm actually a fan of Family Guy, unlike a lot of people who don't find it funny), it's just that I don't think that this is particularly funny. It's clever at first because it's getting in a little dig at The Office, but then Stewie starts with the punching and the beating and the use of the toilet to torture Brian and I think the humor drains out of it.

I don't think that the show will win the award for Best Comedy. They just aren't ready to do that, if they ever will be. It's either going to be 30 Rock or, yes, The Office.

Family Guy is a deplorable show!!
NEVER should have been nominated for an emmy and then a GREAT show like Friday Night Lights didn't even get a nod!!!

I watched this show the first time, up until Fox cancelled it and that burned my butt, because it was hilarious and different (but Fox has a problem with cutting good shows and not letting them gain an audience over time), but thank God for AdultSwin on Cartoon Network and I still can't believe that it actually was picked back up by Fox years later, shows you what TV execs really know, but thank goodness there's warped, a bit weird, but the most loyal television watchers like us around, to show them the error of their ways and I plan to rub it in their face, now that it was nominated for an Emmy.....and if it wins, well, they really should send all the loyal viewers of family guy 50 bucks, but if that's too much money for Fox, then a DVD set of episodes would be nice, but wait, it is Fox, well, then....we should all at least get a thank you on a advertisement somewhere....print or other media would be fine......thank you, nope, thank us.

You just don't see enough toilet lid beatings on TV. Hooray for Stewie, hooray for Family Guy!

Like everyone else has already said, you're obviously not a real fan of family guy considering this is one of their more popular episodes. And a hilarious dubbing over original footage.

They actually made several versions of this clip - one for Entourage, The Office, 30 Rock, etc... they all end the same way, just the show in question changes. It's a clip from the show - I don't know why people are freaking out about something that's already existed and been retooled to be amusing.

i thought the clip was funny. people are just too sensitive these days. hey just be happy it wasn't a clip from the banned abortion episode. just for arguements' sake, if you had a choice between the "where's my emmy?" clip or a clip from the banned abortion episode, which one would you go for?

exactly!
