The Kids in the Hall reunite for a murder-mystery miniseries

Just imagine how much fun Harper's Island could have been if it had been written by and starred The Kids in the Hall. If you live in Canada, you don't have to imagine it, because the Kids are creating just that.Death Comes to Town is to be an eight-part comedy where the Kids (Scott Thompson, Dave Foley, Mark McKinney, Bruce McCulloch and Kevin McDonald) will each play multiple roles, possibly including some of the characters made famous on The Kids in the Hall sketch comedy show. I'm hoping the murderer kills people by crushing their heads.
Coming in January 2010 to CBC, there's no word on a stateside home for the series, but I imagine someone will pick it up at some point. There was a time when The Kids in the Hall was the smartest sketch comedy on television; it certainly bettered SNL through the mid-'90s. They managed to do so much with just the five actors, most of them playing either gender as needed. Bizarre and subversive, juvenile and brilliant, I can't wait to see how the Kids in the Hall interpret a long-form saga.
