Bill O'Reilly answers Jon Stewart

O'Reilly a "humble correspondent"?
Wrong on both counts.
O'Reilly should take that survey.
Question 5: Are you now, or have you ever been, a loon? (Yes/No)
If it comes out as yes, I wouldn't trust him reporting on the survey. If it comes out no, I don't trust the survey.
I hope Jon Stewart responds by asking O'Reilly to name the survey that identified people as "loons".
August 23 2009 at 5:05 AM Report abuse Permalink rate up rate down ReplySo O'Reilly thinks it's okay to call people loons in his "news"?
O'Reilly, host of Inside Edition (tabloid), exposed prevaricator (Peabody flap) and infamous sexual harasser, would be tolerable if he admitted his show is exactly what it is: entertainment. Like Stern, Limbaugh, Oprah and Stewart, he is a monkey dancing for our amusement. Keep it to that level. What O'Reilly says should carry as little weight as anything said by Stewart or Jon Voight or Hannity - they're entertainers. Nothing more.
Both shows take their segments out of context. They do that in order to skew it toward their point....hence..the entertainment factor. I love that O'Reily tries to make it seem like he's a serious journalist.
"I like Jon Stewart, but some young people actually believe Jon is telling the truth on his program" - hmm, I'd say the same about O'Reily's show....many fans think he's word is the only word.
BTW - only way to be fair and balanced is to listen to all of them, do some research, and come to your own conclusion.
Jon Stewart's program is FAR more accurate than O'Reilly's. O'Reilly's show is nothing but right-wing propaganda. Plus, Bill O has proven himself to be incredibly dumb over and over again. For example, when a viewer mail said that Canada has a higher life expectancy than America, O'Reilly responded by saying "America has ten times as many people than Canada, and thus ten times as much crime and ten times as many deaths." Even someone who failed first-grade math wouldn't be stupid enough to make such a ridiculous statement.
On a related note, it's gotten to the point where the right-wing has forgotten what context/out of context actually means. Their definition has been reduced, in essence, to: anytime someone takes a clip of a Republican saying something that sounds funny or stupid, it's "taken out of context." Their "proof" of this is, as O'Reilly did, playing the sentences before and after the funny/dumb statement. Since the part before and after are not funny/dumb, they really think that means the original part was therefore taken out of context. Of course that's not how it works. But, when your whole entire ideology is based on stupidity and misinformation, what else can ya do?
Also, everyone knows Fox News uses the "surveys show" weasel words to add commentary that makes it sound like it's coming from other people rather than the commentator. What surveys? They did a survey about "loons"? Of course not.
Watch the documentary "Outfoxed" to learn all about Fox News' sneaky little tactings such as the "surveys show" or "people say" crap. Instead of O'Reilly saying Jon Stewart is a jerkoff, he'll say "people say" or "surveys show" that jon Stewart is a jerkoff.
Hey bill, if you're going to act like someone was taken out of context and play a few more seconds of a soundbite to show what was "really said", the extra part you play has to actually change the meaning of what was originally shown.
Of course no fox news viewer is smart enough to know that.
This is exactly what O'reilly said: "...more than a thousand [protesters] have been arrested, and surveys show many protesters are simply loons." So no, he wasn't innocently calling only the arrested protesters loons, as he claims after the clip; he was claiming that SURVEYS showed that many of the protesters are loons. Surveys? Muh fuh please. To be completely fair, he himself never claimed them to be loons. But still. What a goofy goof. Very sneaky. Par for the course, 'murika.

As if it's common knowledge that anyone that's ever been arrested is certifiably crazy. He completely ignores the fact that he said 'surveys' supposedly say this and the fact that two sentences didn't really seem to be connected.
It's hilarious that he thinks Stewart is catering to his 45% liberal audience. If that isn't projecting, I don't know what is.
What a pussy, waiting for Stewart's break because he knows that Jon would have wiped the floor with him. Not the mention the fact that he didn't rebutt ANYTHING, he actualy DID call the protestors loons, and the other clip didn't do him much good either in my opinion (and even if it did, OReilly didn't show a third of the clips that Stewart showed of the "crybaby fox dudes", they were all legit).
