LaToya Jackson to co-host 'The View,' Oprah schedules her next book club selection, MTV picks up the rights to 'Skins' and more of today' top TV headlines.
LaToya Jackson will guest co-host two episodes of 'The View,' airing Sept. 16 and 18. Jackson joins the previously announced Victoria Beckham (Sept. 14), Meghan McCain and E.D. Hill, who will each fill in for Elisabeth Hasselbeck during her maternity leave. [Hollywood Reporter]
Oprah Winfrey will announce her next book-club selection on Friday, Sept. 18. Oprah broke the news last night via Twitter, adding she has "never made a selection like 'this.'" Fingers crossed for Kathy Griffin's 'Official Book Club Selection.' [EW.com]
MTV has won the race against the CW to adapt an American version of 'Skins,' based on the popular U.K. teen series (co-starring 'Slumdog Millionaire''s Dev Patel, pictured). Bryan Elsley will write and executive produce the pilot, about a group of teens aged 16-19. Producers are currently eyeing Baltimore as a potential setting for the series. [Hollywood Reporter]
Rapper Lil Wayne will be the first artist profiled on VH1's 'Behind the Music' re-launch, premiering Sept. 10 at 10PM. Other artists tapped for this season include Pink (Sept. 17), Bobby Brown (Sept. 24) and 'Rock of Love''s Bret Michaels, whose episode airs Oct. 1. [VH1]
