Gossip Girl goes gay

Everybody thought that Chuck and Blair were going to be the Upper East Side's hottest couple on Gossip Girl this season, but it looks like we were wrong. According to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello, the hook-up that everyone is going to be talking about won't be between Chuck and Blair, Dan and Serena, or even Nate and Vanessa/Jenny/Blair/Serena/random moms. It's totally going to be between two dudes.
While one of the guys in question is going to be a newcomer to the show, the other one is a character that Gossip Girl fans know very well. For all of you super spoilerphobes out there, I'll stop here, but for the rest of you, click through for more details.
Word is that in episode 6 of this season, Little Lord Fauntleroy himself, Chuck Bass, has a bit of a homoerotic exploration with Josh Ellis (Neal Bledsoe), head of Freshman Affairs at NYU, where the whole gang is headed to school in the fall. Lest you think Miss Blair is going to find herself in a tizzy about this development, rest assured that this entire situation comes about due to her scheming ways.
Apparently Josh, who is gay, is in charge of deciding who delivers the Freshman speech. This is obviously something Blair wants very badly, so she sends out her Bass as bait. Of course, like so many of Blair's evil plans, this one may work out for her in the short term, but sounds like it will have some unintended consequences.
I cannot wait for this storyline to happen. It's nice to see a straight guy get a little gay action to impress a girl, instead of a straight girl getting sapphic in order to impress a guy. There is way too little of the former on TV, and way too much of the latter everywhere else. Plus, Chuck is the perfect character to do this; anyone who owns and wears that much purple velvet has to be comfortable enough in his sexuality to take a walk on the wild side.
So, Gossip Girl fans, what do you think about this development? Good for the show? Bad? Do you wish it was Chuck and Nate? Sound off below!
