Snakes on a Cane was Hugh Laurie's idea

Hugh LaurieYesterday, FOX officially announced the connection between its on-going Snakes on a Cane viral campaign to their drama House. While I don't really understand why a reveal was necessary (I mean, c'mon - who hadn't figured this out?!?), there is one nifty little piece of info that came out of it - according to Joe Adalian at TV MoJoe, the whole thing was Hugh Laurie's idea.

No wonder FOX's in-house marketing gurus felt the need for a reveal - they didn't even come up with the idea in the first place. However, they certainly have capitalized on Laurie's cleverness.

Besides the ambiguous site (which isn't all that ambiguous anymore), FOX has been handing out tattoos of the symbol as well as spray-painting the image in major cities around the country. Additionally, vintage ambulances (presumably a tie-in to the psych ward House will find himself in during the two hour premiere on 9/21) will be driving around LA and NY too.

The one thing to look forward to? Adalian got FOX's marketing chief Joe Earley to tease some of the more traditional promotion that's coming up for show including "'a really fantastic visual image' featuring Laurie that will tie together the whole campaign."

While you're racking your brain over what that image might be, here's a short clip showing the reveal.

"Seen snakes on a cane..." Awful grammar! GO TO SCHOOL!! I am so sick of AOL dumbing down America. Please, hire people who know how to write. Or better yet, I will move to another service provider because I really cannot stand it anymore. It is pretty sad.

You should have written "I saw Snakes on a Cane." You used "awful grammar" yourself.
