Devoted fans of top TV genre series like 24 and CSI are probably all over the regular comic book tie-in stories put out by IDW. Now, casual fans will get a chance to review whole sets of these TV tales in special omnibus editions. The aggressive publisher possesses a slew of licensing lines. In addition to 24 and CSI, they've got Star Trek, Star Trek: The Next Generation, G.I. Joe, Transformers, Doctor Who and others.
The omnibus volumes repackage monthly volumes into a big fat set for folks with too much of a life to visit a comic book store once a month.
According to IDW's announcements, the 24 Omnibus is an "action-packed collection of IDW's complete run of comics based on the acclaimed TV show, 24. Follow Jack Bauer's exploits before President Palmer's victory as he tries to eliminate a mass murderer in the former-Yugoslavia, struggles with drug cartels, radical separatists, as well as economic and ecological chaos."
For your frugal TV comic book dollar, you get "24: One Shot, 24: Midnight Sun, 24: Stories, 24: Cold Warriors and the five-issue prequel story 24: Nightfall.
The CSI Omnibus Vol. 1 includes CSI: Serial about a modern-day Jack the Ripper terrorizing Las Vegas; CSI: Bad Rap (featuring a duel between retro-punk rappers gone bad) and CSI: Demon House (most likely featuring a plot line involving rainbow flowers and fluffy bunnies).
Both tie-in titles hit stores this fall.
