HBO's Bored To Death isn't real noir, but it looks good

by Bob Sassone, posted Sep 1st 2009 5:28PM
A couple of months ago, Mike showed you a preview of the new faux-noir series Bored To Death, which chronicles the adventures of a real writer (Jonathan Ames, played by Jason Schwartzman) who becomes a private eye for some reason. It looks quite entertaining, as this new clip below shows. Ted Danson, Patton Oswalt, and Zach Galifinakis? I'm there. It premieres on HBO September 20.

I had not bothered to add this to my Fall list until I saw this trailer...and laughed out loud about five times! (I adore Ted Dansen ever since rediscovering him in Damages.)

Thank you, by the way, for providing the trailer in YouTube, so that all of us non-American residents can join in the fun.

Looks like there's some John Hodgman and Oliver Platt in there too. I was on the fence about this one, but I think I'm sold.

This looks great! I was uninspired by the first trailer but this one is really rocking. I'm a big Zach G. fan (yes, before The Hangover, which was pants) and I'm usually into Schwartzman when he's paired with a good director who gets him, like Wes Anderson. Plus some great supporting actors. Thanks for posting this...and for tracking to my Mad Men post:
