Miss California USA files a lawsuit

Carrie PrejeanCarrie Prejean, aka Miss California USA (yes, apparently there is a difference between Miss California and Miss California USA, which is more information I ever thought I'd know about these pageants) has filed a lawsuit against two pageant officials.

You may remember that Prejean caused an uproar back in April when moron Perez Hilton asked her a question about gay marriage at the MIss USA Pageant. Prejean was fired a couple of months later for violating her contract and not appearing at several pageant events. Prejean says that pageant officials Keith Lewis and Shanna Moakler really got rid of her because of what she said during the show and because she talked a lot about God.

Donald Trump hasn't made a statement about this yet, but I'm sure he will.

Don't mean to start a Flame War but I don't think anyone in this situation is a bigot or Homophobe.

Perez Hilton had every right to ask the question and her answer (whether I agree with it or not) was fine.

I don't know the details of why she was fired but I don't think we need to call either of them names.

Anyone who actually saw the pageant knows that her answer was civil and anything but homophobic. She said (paraphrasing here) that she's glad we live in a country where people can choose who they marry, but she personally believes marriage should be between a man and a woman.

Trump smartly pointed out that her answer was the same as Barack Obama's during the 2008 campaign. I don't hear anyone calling him a bigot or a homophobe.

Perez Hilton is the bigot, and the media turned this into something it isn't.

News flash: Unless you live in Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, or Iowa, that's simply false. Meanwhile, you can have all the "opposite" marriage you want. With it's almost 50% divorce rate (http://www.cdc.gov/nchs/fastats/divorce.htm), it's *totally* sacred and perfect and the gays will completely ruin it.

News flash: Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut and Iowa are in the U.S., and plenty of people have chosen to move to those states to marry.

Besides, you kind of contradict your own argument anyway. If 92 percent of the states don't support gay marriage, why was Miss California vilified for what she said?

This girl is so hot. But so delusional.

Seems like she has a persecution complex.

I respect her opinions -- even though I disagree with them. But to be such an advocate (or allow herself to be used as an advocate) is not a good thing for a Miss California. Needs to be a lot less controversial and a lot more Miss California. You know hot, dumb and smiling.

She should never have been crowned in the first place and was rightfully fired. She should have been let go as soon as she started in on her homophobic and bigoted comments. Whatever her religious beliefs are, are her business and have absolutely nothing to do with being Miss USA, Miss California, Miss California USA or even Miss nomer. She can believe whatever religious dogma she wants, but when she attempts to push those views on to other people, that's a problem.

Someone call Andy Warhol, her 15 minutes are more than up.

If they have nothing to do with being Miss USA, etc., then why did Mario Lavandeira ask her about them during the pageant?

When did she attempt to push them on others? Didn't she specifically state, when answering a direct question, that they were here views and that she didn't intend to push them on others?

I think all those emails gawker got a hold of, and the fact that Trump didn't fire her initially prove the real reason she got fired by the Miss Universe group.
She thought her new found infamy gave her a licence to do whatever she wanted, and ignored her commitments to her Miss Universe contract.
