Consenus of opinion seems to be they missed the boat with AcroDunk. It wouldn't surprise me to see them featured at half time at some pro-basketball game although they deserve better then that

I was shocked when Acrodunk was eliminated. I was also shocked to see Voices of Glory advanced since their last two appearances have not impressed me. The girl is good but the two brothers are dragging her down. The other four acts I thought deserved to be there. I was not surprised to see five acts advance since TV Guide's listing and The Futon Critic indicated 10 acts and not eight for the final. This was not coincidence that none of the judges could not decide. This was pre-scripted in the show and the judges just followed the script. Sharon and Hasselhoff might of had doubts but we all know Piers Morgan he would have made a decision.

Once again someone got overlooked. In this case Acrodunk. Although I love this act, I do agree that it would be hard to watch someone dunking a ball for an hour. The acts that advanced I think earned their ticket with the exception of Voices of Glory. The girl was terrific but the two brothers will eventually drag her down. As to why 5 acts advanced instead of the 4 advertised, it was all pre-scripted. If you look at Futon Critic and TV Guide they indicate 10 acts not 8 for the Final. The judges just had to pretend that they could not make up their mids and passed the last 2 acts. I can see Sharon & the Hasselhoff having an issue, but as we know Piers is the strong critic in this show and has always been there for the deciding vote. I hope most of you agree. The decisions come from Simon Cowell and the other producers. It's entertainment and that is a business that is designed to generate revenue. All decisions are made at the top.

As noted above, judges are paid to judge, not waffle or crumble under pressure. Whoever was fourth should have gone through. Period. And then hire new judges, ones with courage and not afraid to, you know, JUDGE? The comments about 'Aw-shucks, I'm just a chicken-catching, shy, never been off-n my porch in Kentucky guy' were spot on, nice story, weak voice. Grandma Lee is funny, and she's a 'niche' act in the sense there aren't a lot of women her age doing Ex Lax/Viagra jokes. The Fab Five are beautiful, and really good cloggers, but other than the costumes and music, has anything else changed? Voices of Glory should listen and become 'Whatever her name is' and the Pips. The brothers are killing them. Amazed they got more votes than Acrodunk. The rest of the also-rans, kinda deserved their fate. I have no issues with any of them not moving on. Whatever his name is and Rory shouldn't have been there in the first place.

It's possible the show planned all along to let 5 acts go through like they have in the past, but just did it this way to add a bit of a surprise element to it, just as they've mixed it up already when announcing who would be going through (EriAm Sisters), and if that's the case, I like it. If the judges really did say they couldn't decide and overrode the show and the network, that's fine, too. I just honestly don't get why so many people watch the show and then seem to just want to complain about it. Just don't watch it. I still really enjoy the show and am probably just going to stop reading posts (and articles) from people who don't actually discuss the show but rather rant.

Isabelle, I know youw ant the magic acts to go thru and so do I, but they have to be entertaining, and that magic act wasnt. Same trick, please, if he was a good magician he would have more than 1 or 2 tricks. Its not that people wont vote for magicians, its that they arent any good so far.

I agree that Acrodunk should have been in the semi-finals. Kevin Skinner and The voices of Glory should have been gone. They are cute kids, but like all the judges stated they are young and have along way to go. Kevin Skinner blew me away a couple of times, but he was severely off key and boring. To be in Vegas the act needs to be exciting. Kevin and the Voices bored me to tears ...
My favorites were The Fab Five and Acrodunk.

I can't believe that none of the judges would tell The Voices they were going home. That's not fair at all, and if they can't decide then it should be based on how America voted. The last place vote should have automatically been let go.......

So I got some dirt from two of the acts that were in the top 40: Apparently -every- act is choreographed and decided on by the producers. The two acts I talked to both said nothing was left to their decision, not the song choice, not the choreography, not the outfits they wear, nothing. I think that's pretty sad to be honest. If we're going to vote on the best act it should be their own work. The judges will sit up there and complain about the outfits or the act and as if they had a decision in the matter - Arcadian was just the only one that defended himself by telling the truth (something he wasn't supposed to do) and you could see it on his face last night - he knew he was going home regardless of what the vote count was.

Awful show, I need to stop watching it.
