Kristen Kreuk - from Smallville to Chuck

by Brad Trechak, posted Sep 3rd 2009 9:03AM
Kristen KreukFormer Lana Lang Kristen Kreuk will be heading over to NBC to play a love interest for Chuck on the series of the same name. This is right on the heels of the announcement that Brandon Routh will be playing a romantic interest for Sarah. To put it in perspective, Chuck will be dating Lana Lang and Sarah will be dating Superman.

Hopefully, her character Hannah will be a little less whiny than Lana (the two names rhyme. Coincidence?). I did like when Lana become more self-confident and assertive this past season of Smallvile. It's a pity that only lasted for about an episode and a half. Whatever happens, her Chuck episodes will undoubtedly get more viewers than Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li.

Has anybody else noticed that all these geek-appeal shows have been getting guest stars that are specifically known to geeks? It's like they don't even want to bother with mainstream guest stars anymore. It's probably cheaper that way.

I have no issues with Kristin coming aboard for a few episodes and Routh doesn't impress me, but stop with the potential love interests for Chuck and Sarah already!
Maybe Hannah could be part of a love trapezoid with Morgan, Jeff, and Lester. Let the Buy More antics begin! But just remember, "never trust a woman who's name is a palindrome"-Morgan Grimes

Okay, I'll bite. Is there a problem with getting guest stars who have geek appeal? It's certainly better than "Let's get this actor the target audience doesn't give two smegs about in the hopes of gaining a handful of new viewers". Or even worse, the Paris/Britney/Lindsay sort of stunt casting that shows like HIMYM have been subjected to.

Her horrible acting ruined so many scenes in all those seasons of "Smallville". Finally the show got rid of her, hopefully forever. Now, she's coming to "Chuck" to ruin it, too. Why does this incompetent keep getting acting work? She's not laughably bad, she's painfully bad.

She better not Chuck up season 3 like she did to Smallville's 8th season.

Don't get me wrong, I love the show, but......more bad acting comes to "Chuck". Yay!?!?!! It's funny when Awesome overacts, but the rest of those guys, not so much. Michael Clark Duncan was bad enough, stop the horror.
