Spoilers Anonymous

by Isabelle Carreau, posted Sep 4th 2009 9:00AM

This is Spoilers Anonymous, a weekly column here at TV Squad where we supply you with the dirt on some of the more popular shows on the air. We'll never put spoilers up here on the main page in order to help the reformed stay unspoiled. If you have anything to add to the group, feel free to step up and let yourself be heard, either with our tips form or by emailing us at tvsquad at gmail dot com, or call and leave a message at (775) 640-8479. Your anonymity is guaranteed, if you wish to remain as such.

This week we have spoilers for: Chuck, Desperate Housewives, Glee, Gossip Girl, Greek, Grey's Anatomy, House, NCIS, Private Practice, Scrubs, Smallville, Supernatural and The Mentalist. (SPOILERS FOLLOW!)

Chuck
  • Superman's Brandon Routh landed the role of Shaw, a mysterious spy who takes control of Operation Bartwoski. He'll become Chuck's mentor and a rival in his affections for Sarah. Routh's character will be introduced in the fourth episode and is set to appear in a multi-episode arc. [Source: The Ausiello Files]
  • Sarah will date Superman while Chuck dates Lana Lang. More in our "Kristen Kreuk - from Smallville to Chuck" post.
  • Speaking of Kreuk's character, Morgan will have a crush on her. [Source: The Ausiello Files]
Desperate Housewives
  • Mrs. McCluskey and her new love interest Roy will share a sex scene! The couple will be shown in bed after the act. [Source: TV Guide Magazine]
Glee
  • Kristin Chenoweth, my favorite actress from the canceled-too-soon Pushing Daisies will guest star in Glee's fourth episode. She will play April Rhodes, an alcoholic who'll have a bad influence on the glee club. April gets in the club when Rachel decides to take a break. If you watched Daisies, you know that Kristin can sing pretty well. I cross my fingers that she will appear in more than one episode of Glee. [Source: Watch with Kristin]
Gossip Girl
  • Vanessa's mother (to be played by Gina Torres) will be introduced when Vanessa invites her to NYU to see her give the freshman toast. The mother and daughter reunion will not be a super happy one as Mom is not happy that Vanessa is going to college! [Source: Watch with Kristin]
Greek
  • By the end of the current 10-episode run, Casey will be in a committed and long-term relationship with either Cappie or Evan. I want her to end up with Cappie. You? [Source: The Ausiello Files]
Grey's Anatomy
  • Katherine Heigl will be MIA for five episodes. More on this in our "Katherine Heigl is leaving Grey's Anatomy!!! (just not permanently)" post.
  • Seattle Grace's shrink will continue telling Owen to stay away from Cristina. This time, she'll tell him to stop anything sexual with Cristina until everything is cleared up in his head. Yes, this means we will have to wait longer for them to finally and officially hook up. Thanks to Ellen Pompeo's maternity leave, Derek will finally get a storyline that is not tied to Meredith! [Source: The Ausiello Files]
House
  • Private eye Lucas Douglas will return to the show this fall. How and when he returns is unknown. [Source: The Ausiello Files]
  • Only Wilson and House will appear in the season premiere. [Source: TV Guide's Mega Buzz]
NCIS
  • The premiere will have a time jump. In the episode, DiNozzo will interview replacements for Ziva in D.C. However, we'll also see him sitting in the same interrogation chair in which Ziva was sitting at the very end of the season finale. Any guesses how he ends up there? Executive producer Shane Brennan tells us that we are in for a shocking surprise. [Source: TV Guide Magazine]
Private Practice
  • As expected, Violet will survive the traumatic events of the season finale thanks to Addison and Pete's help. As for crazy Katie, who wanted Violet's baby, she'll be on trial by the fifth episode. [Source: Watch with Kristin]
Scrubs
  • You may have heard that Sarah Chalke is pregnant. Well, her pregnancy will be written on the show when she returns to guest star as Elliot! [Source: Watch with Kristin]
Smallville
  • Green Arrow's new sidekick will be Speedy. The latter is named Mia Dearden and has a sordid past and crosses paths with Oliver in some shady places. Speedy is said to have amazing martial-arts skills. [Source: TV Guide Magazine]
Supernatural
  • A flashforward will show us a 70-year-old Dean. Old Dean is said to be an old coot! Jo and Ellen will be back for one episode. [Source: Watch with Kristin]
The Mentalist
  • The seventh episode of the season will feature flashbacks set in the mid-1980s. Said flashbacks will feature 16-year-old Patrick Jane and his father Alex. The latter is described as a con artist who is charming on the outside but has a nasty temper and is extremely controlling of his son in the inside. We will see the father and son duo put on a psychic carnival act using their mentalist tricks. [Source: Spoiler TV]

Saying Kristin Chenoweth can "sing pretty well" is like saying Meryl Streep's "eh, decent actress" or Gordon Ramsey has "fits, sometimes, once in a while and can boil water to save his life".

Kristin can sing "Pretty Well?" Dude, she's a classically trained soprano who has performed both on Broadway and at the Metropolitan Opera. She can sing more than 'pretty well'!!!!

So, after all of the promos and spoilers, it seems like the season premiere of House will be another one of their high concept episodes. But that's the problem I have with this show. To me, there's a handful of episodes that stand out as some of the best written stuff on TV. Then the rest are all just so-so. I wish this show was more consistent in writing quality.

I can't wait until they introduce Patrick Jane's new partner, a Native American orthodontic equipment sales rep with ears so accurate that he has given them the nickname "The Ultra-Hearers."

His name?

A 1980s flashbacks to psychic and father? The Mentalist really has no qualms about aping Psych, does it? At least it's a better product than when Gray's started doing syrupy JD monologues for Meredith.

That's exactly what I though when I read that. But in typical Mentalist fashion they changed a minor detail;young Jane isn't a tween like young Shawn, he's 16 instead! Nothing to see here people, move along.
