What to Watch: October 5 -11

by Stephanie Earp, posted Oct 4th 2009 11:55PM

Bones (Wednesday, 8 pm, Global/Fox)

Brennan and Booth investigate remains found during a suburban block party. On a cul-de-sac. Where everyone has secret lives. Yes, basically, 'Bones' is visiting Wisteria Lane for an episode. Imagine how much faster that whole 'bones in the swimming pool' mystery would have been solved if they'd visited back in season 1.

Also This Week:

October 5 - Lie to Me (9 pm, Global/Fox)

Tim Roth starring as the ultimate lie-detector was enough to make me put this on my list of shows I need to get to, but this week the guest stars put it over the top. Jennifer Beals ('The L Word') and James Marsters ('Buffy the Vampire Slayer') turn up in an episode about a football player accused of statutory rape.

October 7 - Craft in America (8 pm, PBS)

This Peabody Award-winning series from PBS traces the origins of the craft movement in America, and the artists who use tools from needles to sledgehammers to create things that are both useful and beautiful. A second episode airs at 9 pm.

October 11 - Desperate Housewives (9 pm, CTV/ABC)

Speaking of Wisteria Lane, Gardener John (Jesse Metcalfe) is back to tempt Gaby again. Again again. Because he already came back in 2007. It's not a good sign when even the CTV announcer sounds less than thrilled with the previews for upcoming episodes.
