Jennifer Hudson to Star in ABC Christmas Special

This year, Christmas will come a bit early for 'American Idol' alum Jennifer Hudson.

According to the Hollywood Reporter, the Oscar winner ('Dreamgirls') will star in the ABC special 'Jennifer Hudson: I'll Be Home for Christmas,' airing this December.

Hudson will travel to her hometown of Chicago to perform at various locations connected to her childhood, including her church and music academy. There, Hudson will recall some of her favorite holiday memories.This year, Christmas will come a bit early for 'American Idol' alum Jennifer Hudson.

The special will cap off a big year for Hudson, who gave birth to her first child, David, in August. She also performed the National Anthem at the Super Bowl in January, appeared in the 'VH1 Divas' reboot and won a Best R&B Album Grammy for her eponymous debut.
