SpongeBob is getting married

by Bob Sassone, posted Oct 13th 2009 4:26PM
SpongeBobI'm not sure how this is going to change the show (though a show with freaky sponge/squirrel mutant children might be interesting), but SpongeBob SquarePants is getting married! Yes, the yellow square will finally tie the knot with the lady squirrel in the bowl, Sandy.

Entertainment Weekly has an exclusive sneak peek of the SpongeBob wedding. Guests will include Tina Fey, Ricky Gervais, LeBron James, Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, Will Ferrell, Craig Ferguson, and Rosario Dawson!

"In other words, a bird may love a fish, but where would they build a home together?" Guess that answers that question!

I'll bet you anything that they don't actually get married and it's just the strange scheme of one of the two to beat the other at karate, or something else crazy like that...

For Nikole, I've often lamented the loss of the 80s cartoons I grew up on that DID teach plenty morals without being afraid to throw in good story. They weren't afraid of going over kids' heads and didn't. They didn't baby kids and we DID learn from them. It's no substitute for parenting, but I know I myself and many of my friends all learned a good deal from things like Dungeons and Dragons, teaching nobility, chivalry, bravery in the face of fear and teamwork, and things like Carebears and Strawberry Shortcake, learning about manners and friendship and sharing, even He-Man, once again, learning about bravery, right and wrong. Why do you think the geeky guys of today are such gentleman? Because they paid attention to that stuff as kids. Unfortunately, today's cartoons have been dumbed down, watered down and become unimaginative for the most part, partially because so many adults assume some of their ideas will fly right over kids' heads. Just because they're little doesn't mean they're not intelligent. They soak things up (pun not intended) like a sponge. I'd love to see a return to the imaginative and creative cartoons of the 80s and show kids what it's like to have a CARTOON of all things make you think again.

Spongebob really really seems gay actually. His high effeminate voice and laugh. In fact, everything that he does is incredibly gay. Ever seen the episode where he is talking to Patrick and he says "I really like Squidward" and Patrick replys "Yeah, I do too Spongebob" and Spongebob says "No. I REALLY like Squidward" with a very odd look on his face? If any human character did the same things as spongebob does they would be considered ridiculously gay. Personally I don't care, I'm merely making a statement
