Star Trek's Jolene Blalock joins Legend of the Seeker cast

by John Scott Lewinski, posted Oct 14th 2009 10:33AM
Jolene Blalocl is going from Enterprise to Legend of the Seeker. The male nerd interest quotient just shot way up for Legend of the Seeker.

Actress Jolene Blalock (Vulcan T'Pol in Star Trek: Enterprise) is joining the cast of the New Zealand-based, Disney produced fantasy series as a recurring villain. According to a Disney press release, Blalock begins filming this week as "a mysterious Sister of the Dark who possesses very powerful magic."

It'll help you a lot to understand this next but if you're a fan of the show, but Blalock will not only threaten heroic Richard (Craig Horner) and "his quest to defeat evil forces," but her real goal is to destroy the lovely female lead, Kahlan (Bridget Regan).

Blalock was Enterprise's Vulcan version of Seven of Nine -- the impossibly hot, yet emotionally cool on board brainiac who destroys morale by refusing to mess around with pretty much anybody on board. Gone were the Star Trek glory days of Captain Kirk scoring with hot girls all over the ship. After Enterprise, she appeared on Stargate SG-1, CSI, JAG and Veronica's Closet.

Based on author Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth book series, the second season of Legend of the Seeker will premiere the week of November 7.

And, fans should keep a look-out for the "Complete First Season" on DVD. It just hit stores yesterday.

I believe none of that was a spoiler, btw, due to the fact that almost the entire show has been changed from the book series. Sure, there are a few things that the show and books have in common, but seriously, the books are by far the more superior, and of course, Sam Raimi can't make the show word-for-word what the books are... anywho...

"I wonder if being a dark sister means she's going to be a Mord'Sith or something entirely different? I hope different personally - hopefully someone that is equal to or at least close to as powerful as Rahl."

**Potential Spoiler, but I don't believe so**

Rick, in the books, Richard was captured and held prisoner (basically) by the Sisters of the Light. ((They included them in the first season of the tv show, lol!)) Anywho, some of the sisters worshipped and followed the Keeper, and they were called the Sisters of the Dark. Very very evil, vile sorceress'. At any rate, there was one in specific who, if Blalock plays her, will REALLY rock! Hoping and praying desperately for Sister Nikki! :D If she plays Sister Ulicia though, our heroes are gonna be in for a bad, bad time in the show. In the books, Nikki eventually goes good, but Ulicia is bad to the very end... So depending on if you want Blalock to be very powerful and ultimately good, root for Nikki. If you want her to be slightly less powerful, but sick and sadistic, go for Ulicia... rofl!

Ah yes....Jolene Blalock is an accomplished actress and was my second favorite character (the first being Linda Park) on the "Enterprise" series. She will do nothing but make that show (LOTS) better.

LOVE this show. I watched it online at Hulu.com. All the eps were on there the week after syndication. Looking forward to the 2nd season.

Also I wanted to mention that if you haven't seen this series and are interested you can get the full season DVD box set or you can watch it online with Netflix streaming video. I highly recommend this show, and I hope it does really well. It has imagination and intrigue, something that is absent in most TV shows today.

Jolene's Vulcan was quite possibly second to none even compared to Nimoy. She had it down perfectly, and I think her acting skills are as high up there as her good looks. I love this show and having her on it will only make it that much better. I wonder if being a dark sister means she's going to be a Mord'Sith or something entirely different? I hope different personally - hopefully someone that is equal to or at least close to as powerful as Rahl.

Actually, Ms. Blalock did those shows before "Enterprise" ('cept for "SG-1"). Since "Enterprise," she's had a handful of guest roles and a cheezy movie or two.
