Looks like the joke's on us, as the first three episodes of 'The Cleveland Show' received strong enough ratings for FOX to renew the show for a full second season, according to Variety. The show has averaged a staggering 4.5 rating in the 18-49 demo and 9 million viewers total, making it the highest-rated new series of the 2009 season.

'The Cleveland Show,' which features the vocal talents of Mike Henry, Sanaa Lathan, Jamie Kennedy and show creator Seth MacFarlane, was already renewed for a half-season in May before the first episode aired, but this nine-episode extension ensures a Cleveland on every television going into 2011.

This could be a sign that 'Cleveland' won't suffer the same fate as 'Family Guy,' which was cancelled numerous times before being resuscitated by FOX after a groundswell of fan support. Upon hearing of Cleveland's success, a despondent and solitary Quagmire was overheard muttering "Giggity" repeatedly while clenching his fists.
