'Southland', a police drama which gained critical acclaim and a small but loyal following on NBC, was recently canceled after airing just seven episodes. Six further episodes have been produced as part of a planned second season; according to the article, the 13 episodes will likely be packaged and run together as part of any relaunch that may take place on a new network.
'Jericho', you may remember, was in a similar situation two years ago and ended up being renewed in part due to a fan campaign where die-hards bombarded the network with canned nuts. Luckily for fans of 'Southland' and unluckily for Planters, it appears that this time no such drastic measures will be necessary.
