What to Watch: October 26 - November 1

Castle (October 26, 10 pm, A/ABC)
'Castle' gets on the vampire train, as a new case involves a corpse with fangs and stake in his heart. I'm so confused. Isn't the stake supposed to turn the corpse to dust? Oh wait, that's the years of 'Buffy' talking. Meanwhile, did you know that Richard Castle's 'book' - the very meta 'Heat Wave', written in character from intro to acknowledgments, entered the New York Times best-seller list at #26 last month?

Also This Week:
October 28 - The Tudors (9 pm, CBC)
Henry mourns the death of Queen Jane, while his enemies take advantage of his grief to murder a few friends of the crown. How many episodes before Henry's got a new girl? I say one or two at most.
October 28 - America's Next Top Model (8 pm, CTV/CW)
Tyra Banks sends the remaining girls to Hawaii for surfing lessons and the inevitable swimsuit photo shoot. The genuinely gorgeous Kristy Hume serves as the lone sane person - or as Tyra calls her: guest judge.
October 31 - Star Portraits (8 pm, Bravo)
Tonight, the Amazing Kreskin sits for portraits by three up-and-coming Canadian artists. I'm sure Stefan Galvanek and Marie Finkelstein are very talented, but the one to watch here is Catto Houghton. Not only is she an award-winning painter, she happens to be my sister.
(In other news, anyone who remembers how to set a VCR to record is wanted at my folks' place.)
