Could this have been the "crazy" thing Shepard Smith was talking about?

by Danny Gallagher, posted Oct 28th 2009 8:04PM
The other day, Fox News newsman Shepard Smith announced on his Facebook page that something "crazy" would be going down on his show. Just what kind of crazy are we talking about? A monkey wearing a Napoleon hat crazy? Putting two bananas in your ears and barking like a walrus crazy? TiVoing Brothers crazy?

He never officially confirmed just what the "crazy" thing would be, but I wonder if this is it. Smith, the Fox News Channel's equivalent of Edward R. Murrow, issued an official apology for his network's (and I'm actually quoting) "lack of balance."

The "lack of balance" in question referred to Fox correspondent Shannon Bream, who conducted an interview with Republican candidate for New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, but failed to nail down his Democratic opposition Jon Corzine. Smith said he didn't know the candidate wasn't interviewed and that "If I had control, it wouldn't have happened." Quick, someone check The Weather Channel for Hell's temperature and five-day forecast!

The strain of being a gay man on Fox must be getting to him.

He does, doesn't he? Of course, that is not good as Ray Wise is 62 and Shepard Smith is 45.

I viewed this comment only as a joke because the democratic nominee has refused to go on Fox. Its sort of hard to be "balanced" when one side of an issue refuses to go on your programming. Shame on politicians for not challenging their own ideas.

Can you blame them? The toughest question a Demonrat will get on state media is "Did you like your breakfast this morning?" It must scare them piss-less to have to deal with answering real questions.

And whats with the Edward R. Murrow bit? Are you comparing him to an obtuse commie hack because he's a bit more liberal than you'd expected or is this the regular liberal praise of Edward R. Murrow a horribly unobjective, half-assed reporter?
