Idris Elba Producing Legal Drama for NBC

Okay, so the concept may not be fresh, but the face behind the project certainly is. British actor Idris Elba, formerly of 'The Wire' but probably more familiar as Charles Miner on 'The Office', has inked a development deal with NBC to play the lead role in a legal drama created by 'Battlestar Galactica' executive producer David Eick.Idris ElbaNBC may be struggling in the ratings, but there's no sign of a creative letdown, as they've announced their next groundbreaking idea: a legal drama.

Okay, so the concept may not be fresh, but the face behind the project certainly is. British actor Idris Elba, formerly of 'The Wire' but probably more familiar as Charles Miner on 'The Office', has inked a development deal with NBC to executive-produce a legal drama.

Elba, who has major roles in the upcoming feature films 'The Losers' and 'Takers', will team up with 'Battlestar Galactica' executive producer David Eick.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the series will revolve around a vigilante lawyer who will go to any lengths to help his clients fight back against a corrput goverment. The project is as-yet untilted and will be written by Jerry Bruckheimer collaborators Sean O'Keefe and Will Staples.
