Here's who turned down the Oscars gig

by Bob Sassone, posted Nov 4th 2009 6:31PM
OscarAllison told you yesterday that Steve Martin and Alec Baldwin will host the Oscars in 2010. But you probably guessed that others were considered too, right? Three of the people below turned down the gig. Can you guess who they were?

  • Tina Fey
  • Robert Downey, Jr.
  • Will Ferrell
  • Whoopi Goldberg
  • Jay Leno
  • Ben Stiller
  • Sean Combs
  • Kristin Chenoweth
  • Jerry Seinfeld
  • me

The three who turned down the gig were Tina Fey (too busy with 30 Rock), Ben Stiller, and Robert Downey Jr.

(For the record, I wasn't asked.)

I can't believe that Neil Patrick Harris wasn't asked, or Ricky Gervais. Those would have been my top two choices.

Guess that means that I won't be watching the Oscars next year if Baldwin is hosting, Can't stand the obnoxious moron,

Shouldn't every awards show be hosted by Neal Patrick Harris.

I had 2 of the 3 with my error being Seinfeld instead of Tina Fey.

I remember Jerry's appearance at the Oscars to promote Bee Movie and figured he was auditioning for a future hosting gig... I did consider Fey though... so it didn't blow me away.
