This scared the crap out of me to the point of having nightmares! It was that good. I hope it sticks around for a long time, and the ratings prove that with all the critics out there, the audience is the only one that really counts.

Your puns were all wrong "launched" and "took off" are from the perspective of the Visitors. Shouldn't they follow the perspective of the show which is from the human standpoint? Here are some freebies:

it really "landed"
the audience was "captivated"
they really got out their message (ok that one sucked)
ABC had new visitors in their audience last night
ABC can claim "Victory"

I could be wrong about the perspective point because of the network's policy to withhold shows from their internet viewers for no logical reason. Almost makes me want to find it and watch it illegally, is that what you want me to do ABC? Sorry to criticize your puns they were really fine I just wanted to make some more up and post them.

I really hate that the networks are putting a lot of their shows on hiatus for the winter Olympics. Do they really think everybody is going to watch them that much?

I loved the old series of "V" with Marc Singer, and I like this one too.
There are several actors in the new series that I enjoy, so I'm happy they have a job.
I'm not happy with the fact that I read that they are only showing 4 episodes, then holding the rest until March.
CBS did that with "Jericho," another show that I liked. The show was doing great, but the layoff killed it.

I thought the pilot was cool. Although the behind the scenes drama seems to indicate the following eps are not so great.
I will keep watching for now, but I do think ABC will likely regret the staggered launch.

Based on the shifting and dumping of showrunners ... I think this show will fizzle on the same scale HEROES did. Big flashy start. Hard cold crash right around the corner.

With this shifting creative talent behind the scenes, I don't think the show could possibly have the overarching direction a show of this nature warrants.

I think SciFi shows such as BATTLESTAR GALLACTICA, LOST and FRINGE are successful because they had visionaries behind them from the onset that haven't left. The captains built the boat and steered that boat down a designed course. They didn't keep switching things up and dumping showrunners and hiring new showrunners and dumping them again (i.e. HEROES & V already).

We'll see though.

I'll admit to watching the pilot because of nostalgia. However, I think I'm going to stick around to see where it goes, as long as they make the son character less annoying.
