Disney Gives 'JONAS' a Second Season

JONASThe Disney Channel has given 'JONAS' stars Joe, Kevin and Nick Jonas (aka the Jonas Brothers) a promise ring for another season.

Work on the show's second season will begin in February, reports the Hollywood Reporter, with a premiere date planned for mid-2010.

Also upcoming is the JoBros' short-form reality series, 'Jonas Brothers: Living the Dream,' premiering early next year.

The renewal order comes after a season slightly hit-or-miss ratings. Despite debuting with 4 million viewers, 'JONAS' was quickly moved to Sundays after its second episode was trounced by an 'iCarly' special on Nickelodeon (d'oh). 'JONAS' has since averaged 3.4 million viewers.JONASThe Disney Channel has given 'JONAS' stars Joe, Kevin and Nick Jonas (aka the Jonas Brothers) a promise ring for another season.

That may explain why Disney is bringing in two new people to the show: executive producer Lester Lewis, and director Paul Hoen. Lewis previously worked on 'The Office' and 'The Larry Sanders Show.' Hoen, meanwhile, has directed numerous Disney Channel movies, including the upcoming 'Camp Rock' sequel.

Will Lewis and Hoen help the JoBros avoid a sophomore slump? Just in case, we came up with a few plot ideas to keep the tween demos burnin' up:

-- The Jonas Brothers smash their promise rings and live the rock 'n' roll lifestyle for the whole season. Their promise rings are later replaced by wedding rings, when three lucky, real-life fans win their hearts (via a contest, of course).

-- Frankie Jonas, aka the Bonus Jonas, becomes a full-time member of the band, thus securing the younger demographic (let's face it: Joe, Kevin and Nick aren't getting any younger).

-- The Junior Operatives team up with 'Chuck' in a special crossover event. Subway, naturally, joins in to save the show.

-- Bored with their lives, the JoBros head back to Jersey and open their own pizzeria. Think of it as 'Three Guys and a Pizza Place.'
