According to Entertainment Weekly, Grier, who rose to fame on the strength of such underground action flicks as 'Coffy' and and 'Foxy Brown', has been signed to appear in several upcoming episodes of 'Smallville' as government agent Amanda Waller.

Waller, also known in the comics by her nickname "The Wall", is a high level official who runs covert missions using super powered operatives; though she has no abilities herself, she manages to keep her team in line through political acumen and sheer force of personality.

In other words, the character is a perfect fit for Grier, who over the course of her career has gained a reputation for powerhouse performances playing strong-willed women in films and TV shows such as 'The L Word'.

How Waller's appearance will affect Clark Kent or the other heroes in the 'Smallville' universe remains to be seen, but when "The Wall" gets involved, bodies usually start hitting the floor.

And that's just how Pam Grier likes it. Because, after all, she's the baddest one-chick hit-squad that ever hit town.
