FOX cancels Dollhouse

by Bob Sassone, posted Nov 11th 2009 4:02PM
DollhouseThis seems to be the week for cancellation notices. ABC canceled Eastwick yesterday and Hank today, and now FOX has announced that they are canceling Joss Whedon's Dollhouse.

Is this a surprise? Not at all. In fact, a lot of people were rather surprised when the show was given a second season. I wonder how many fans of the first season didn't even bother watching the second season of the show because they knew it was a surprise that the show got renewed and they knew it was just a matter of time before FOX canceled it? Or maybe the Friday night slot was another reason a lot of people weren't watching.

The show will actually finish its whole 13 episode order, which is something a lot of canceled shows can't say. Now we'll just have to see if Whedon will have an actual ending for the show.

Sometimes shows find a second life on DVD. I introduced many friends to Freaks n Geeks on DVD - they loved it but it was too late. Ditto Veronica Mars or even The Wire.

Good! every thing Joss Wheaton does is crap anyway. Firefire has reach some sort of mythical status, if the show was so good and so many people "Love it" so much why didn't all these people actually watch it. Then it wouldn't have been canceled in the first place.

The timing of this whole Fox Dollhouse run has been so unfortunate. When Whedon was at the top of his game (Firefly) they shot him down; when Whedon made a rare misstep (Dollhouse) they supported him. Why, oh WHY couldn't it have been the other way around! They finally closed the barn door when all the good horses were long gone.

Sir Yuck-Yuck

this is SWEET justice for those of us Terminator : the Sarah Connor chronicles fans who thought dollhouse should have been cancelled last season and that Terminator : tSCc should have been on this season as it had the higher ratings so YAY !!! Medium at 9pm Fridays is the better show anyways and its still on ;)

This show had it coming last year. Only because Whedon has some clout did it survive. After last year's finale it deserved death.
