Are you or your family in need of life changing money? Do you have a 6-12 year old with mental capacity that might make you constantly question his or her genetics? Well, lucky for you Fox just announced a brand new game show called 'Our Little Genius.' Take your own little prodigy to the next contestant open call and you may be on the road to making some big bucks off of your child's big brain.

How much money? According to the show's producers it's up to the parents -- but promises to be in the at least hundreds of thousands of dollars category! The show can be considered a cross between 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire?' and 'Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader?' which is also the brainchild of Mark Burnett of 'Survivor' and 'The Apprentice' fame (shows that feature adults acting like kids in a jungle and boardroom environment, respectively). The premise of the show involves inviting parents to come along with their genius children to answer questions within their knowledge specialty including but not limited to astronomy, literature, probably not Spongebob -- you get the idea.

Fortunately, the child genius does not carry the entire burden of winning the show. The child does not get to choose whether or not they can answer the question. It's up to their parents to decide if their child has the capacity to answer the next question or forfeit increasing their cash takings. Get ready for some potentially awkward times at family dinners to come!!! Nothing says, "I have no faith in you" like saying it in front of a national television audience!

Times are definitely tough, but is it okay for parents to exert such financial pressure upon their children? It's all fun and games until one of the contestants ends up like Donnie Smith in 'Magnolia.' Not to mention how there has been backlash towards kids on reality shows in recent times including the controversial 'Kid Nation.'

Admittedly 'Genius' has two major reasons that it will be a runaway hit. The show is produced by Mark Burnett in association with ZOO Productions, the same team that brought us "Are You Smarter Than A Fifth Grader" and its time slot. 'Our Little Genius' is programmed to air right after Fox's ratings juggernaut 'American Idol.'

So if this is the chance you've been waiting for and you're willing to place the weight of your family's financial burdens on your child's shoulders -- make sure they've got the thick skin to handle it. Everyone knows what happens after American Idol is fair game. Families who are interested for considerations hould send their inquiries to ourlittlegenius@yahoo.com.
