Bridget Nash (Daughter of Chimp Attack Victim) Gives 'Today' Interview (VIDEO)

On 'Today' this morning, Bridget Nash spoke to Meredith Vieira on her feelings of love and support for her mother Charla Nash, the Connecticut woman who was mauled by a 200-pound chimpanzee on Feb. 16 and suffered severe injury including the loss of both hands, nose, upper and lower lips, eyelids and a portion of the bone structure in her mid-face.

"I don't see anything but her ... as she always was," Nash said of her mother. "[She's] the same person."

"I don't see anything but her ... as she always was," Nash said of her mother. "[She's] the same person."

"I just want her to be ... as independent as she could be, and I want to be ... around her as much as I can and be supportive. I'm proud of her," said Nash, adding that her mother has displayed uncommon strength dealing with her catastrophic injuries. "I don't think I'd ever be able to get through it. I feel like I'd sit there and feel sorry for myself. She doesn't do that, she's just one foot in front of the other and keep getting better."
